He will go through the motions. All he can really do is fire him from the COVID task force. Trump doesn’t have the authority to fire him from the NHI. Fauci is protected by those pesky civil service regulations – intended exactly to stop such politically-motivated firings. I think it’s the biggest reason Trump signed his EO to do away with them for federal employees in 3 months (or at some point in the future, I forget exactly when).
I hate to even being this up, but putting nothing past the chimp-in-charge and his minions, what happens if Biden is assassinated (or dies for any reason) before the EC vote, or before inauguration?

So for the downer post - the Blue Wall at this point is kinda a faded blue, waist-high picket fence with a few slats missing. Yeah, the old Solid South is showing holes as well, but what these last couple of elections have shown is that the old playbook if not dead, at least needs some serious amending. Biden is taking WI with ~20,000 votes. That’s not solid - it’s a clingfilm barrier at best.

I certainly hope you’re right about this. But if it doesn’t happen, he’ll be high on the list of Republican candidates.
I think the news networks should announce/call the winner of the election at 3AM Eastern so that people wake up to it and perhaps the immediate reaction will be less violent.
