I thought the schadenfreude of Trumpies loudly protesting in front of Barr’s house after he made it clear he wasn’t going to arrest Joe Biden was perfect and probably somewhat persuasive to his current hide-in-the-bunker approach to finishing out his term.
According to some reports, there was even a horse!
As for Pence, I guess his dreams of God having a bigger plan for him may not be all he has hoped. Like others within Trump’s sphere, he is likely going to need a pardon himself for his lies about Mike Flynn’s treachery. I don’t think his political career will amount to much going forward. His only path to the presidency was through Trump.
Network calls do matter to the extent that it would be a step toward putting a stop to things like the “stop the count” protests. If every media outlet is stating clearly that Biden has one, it isolates the fringe.
Pence is weeping quietly into Mother’s (fully clothed) lap, whispering plaintively, “You still love me, don’t you?”
I think the Republicans don’t have a great plan right now because they actually didn’t think they were going to lose. I’ve been concerned the past few months that the GOP was not acting like they thought there was any chance in hell that Trump might lose. I think they believed that slowing down the mail in votes and the Hunter Biden laptop would be sufficient to get Trump the victory.
They are still going to protest. They’ll say it was stolen, etc. Or will say, as in Arizona, they need to continue the count because Trump votes could be there and the media was too quick.
I’m fine with the media waiting until when they are comfortable with declaring it.
I have to say that this has been the most gut-wrenching last couple of days, but it has also been pretty dang amazing. I know it’s probably the hormones talking, but my eyes have been wet all morning over Georgia. For real, I love my peeps down there.
The 2016 feeling of confidence started turning into the 4-year dread when we saw Florida turn red.
I had high hopes for Florida. Combined with the early Trump leads in the Rust Belt it a was gut-wrenching first evening. Biden turning it around in MI, WI and now PA has been sweet.
But I never, ever really thought Georgia was in play. Not even 1%. Oh, nice to challenge and get the RP to waste some dollars, but not a real chance of a win. Even if by some quirk of fate Georgia shifts back on military ballots or some such, the state is proven me wrong and I’m mighty pleased about that .

“Stop that, you’re getting me wet.”

Agree. They had no response plan other than to send a few loyalists out to the street corner to complain, and no central command for the various legal actions they are taking - it is all haphazard. Also, no unified messaging - the pundits don’t know what to say - there are no talking points coming from the top.
LOL, and Mother is probably thinking to herself, “After the last excruciating 4 years of watching your slavering devotion to that corrupt, misguided, GODLESS cretin, I wouldn’t be so sure!”
Good thing for Pence that in his world, marriage is for life. Bad thing for Pence, a loveless angry marriage for life can be its own torture.

But I never, ever really thought Georgia was in play. Not even 1%.
The Biden/Harris campaign seemed to sense something was happening. Biden and Harris visited Georgia 2 times each in the last week. And Obama showed up as well.
A lot of this is all the voter registration work that has been done (thanks Stacey Abrams)
I just realized that SNL could be really fun this week.
Are you in a t-minus-48-hours time warp or something?
No snark intended — genuinely curious!
In 2004 I was positive Bush would lose. He didn’t. Everything I heard yesterday, and everything I’ve heard this morning, points to a Biden victory. But I’m not going to feel comfortable until it’s official.

Yes, they can!!!

Both John James, who ran against Gary Peters for Senate in my state, and Eric Esshaki, who ran against Haley Stevens for Rep in my district, lost but are also refusing to concede. What trumping crybabies.
I’m also in Michigan and I guess I had no idea what a big baby John James is. I’m glad he lost, but it makes him look absolutely pathetic to not concede. Dude totally lost.

With Dave Chapelle as host too.
Mother, that sailor suit doesn’t fit anymore!”

I’m wondering if they’ll sing Hallelujah again, only different.
