The press conference includes testimony from a republican observer who “had a feeling” there was fraud going on, and another who complained that he tried to take a photo of a ballot and was told to put his cameraphone away.
The work of democracy is a tautology. The gap, small as it is, impresses me though, it would have been so easy for people to stay at home, bury their heads in the sand or somewhere else, to simply ignore the plight of those less fortunate. This election has been an actual exceptional event.
Can we now please stop saying that the Democrats selected the worst candidate ever? I personally think Biden may have been the only one who could beat Trump. In addition, if there is any President who has any chance of reaching compromises with McConnell, it’s Biden. Also don’t ignore the fact that he had long term relationships with a lot of the old guard Senators. If anybody has a chance to get Republicans to push back against McConnell it’s Biden. I was reading an article about why Obama had so much difficulty getting anything done and they pointed out that when he was able to get things done it was because Joe worked Congress for him. Also, we get Jill Biden as FLOTIS and Harris as VP. I do wonder if Jill is really going to continue to teach like she claimed? Yes, I would have liked a blue tsunami, but this will be more than enough. I have Celebration by Kool & The Gang running through my head and just for fun, I played The Battle of Yorktown from Hamilton so I could hear them scream “We won, we won, we won!”
Probably outing myself as a nerd, but the inspiration (if not the words) is from the speech Terenas Menethil’s ghost gives to his son, the Lich King, in World of Warcraft. Seemed oddly appropriate.
