I agree. I get very upset when people downplay Joe’s capabilities and especially his experience. Yeah, he’s not Mr. Flash – and that’s an asset. I’ve said all along, only a white man could beat DJT. Not a woman, not a brown/black-skinned person of any gender, not a first-or-second-generation American, and not anyone too young (under 55). It had to be an Old White Guy. It had to be someone with long-time relationships in the House and the Senate. Someone who knows backstairs D.C. Someone with a cool head and the maturity not to fly off the handle at the slightest thing. Someone who has been tested by Life and its tragedies. It could ONLY have been Joe.
Yeah, there won’t be 20+ faithless electors. I feel like I’ve been waiting 4 years to take a deep breath. (Unfortunately, I still can’t- we still have Covid out there and closing in on 10 million US cases).
To paraphrase the second episode of Better Call Saul: “Worst candidate ever? I just pleaded America down from a death sentence to three months probation. I’m the best candidate ever!”

I’m another who long ago made this point and supported Biden from the very beginning. I am so sick of all the Biden bashing. He’s a very capable, experienced man who is, as you well said, not Mr. Flash – but Dems would do so much better if they figured out how to value experience, judgment and a deliberative temperament over sizzle. We might have had President Gore and President Kerry instead of Bush and Trump if they had.
There’s plenty of room for a progressive wing in the party and I support it to the max. But we have got to work together and keep this movement together to ever have any hope of succeeding over the horrible fear-and-cheat campaigns mounted regularly by Republicans.
Biden will make us proud.
