If you like Gravity Falls, the creator and voice-actor of the show has been calling the voter fraud hotline to report voter fraud and he has so far done:
Grunkle Stan calling to report that he took ballots
Soos calling because he saw the Hamburgler at the polls
Add me to the list. I’ve gotten very good at switching the station or muting the volume within seconds of hearing his voice. If they announce it first, I can often avoid even that.
I’ve only heard a few seconds of his voice mainly because the TV is never on in this household and I don’t feel the need to watch political videos online. I think I’ve accidentally had some autoplay when i was just trying to read the corresponding article and I was forced to hear him, but not for long.
Looking over my posts today , and responses they have gotten, makes me realize there is a coincidence I regret posting, all in consideration. The absurd joke about Jewish people who have donated 100 million getting special and ridiculous and the serious response about Bloomberg’s 100 million getting a net positive outcome in Georgia was completely unintentional, sorry before any offense miners get to it, stupid joke, from stupid man. Sorry
One of the high points of the day was when CNN broke the story that Jared and Melania were working on breaking the news to Donald that he was a loser.
That story pleased me because I knew it was true, that Jared and Melania were probably approaching it sideways with some sort of strategy in mind…”I’ll say It’s not so bad, you were first runner-up honey, Sleepy Joe was next to last” while you shoot the tranquilizer gun.” Then CNN broke that story and screwed their plan, they immediately went into denial mode.
I think the crazier he gets the better it is for us. My absolute dream would be for him to tweet the following:
BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE ARMED SERVICES. THIS IS YOUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF YOU MUST DO YOUR DUTY NOW AND STOP THE RADICAL LEFT COUP. JOE BIDEN MUST NOT TAKE MY OFFICE.
Then we could arrest him on Inauguration Day. Man, I didn’t realize this would feel so good.
Sorry this reply’s so far down the thread–I haven’t been back all day.
One thing I notice about MAGA-types is…they put a lot of stock in the outward symbols of patriotism. Flags, the national anthem, etc. It seems to me a sort of lip-service kind of patriotism, where the symbols mean more than the principles they’re supposed to represent.
For example, one of my cousins (not the one I regularly hang out with–that one’s a Democrat) posts far-right memes on her Facebook. (Though some of them may be from her nephew-in-law, who shares her account.) One was about how Trump is a REAL patriot because he circumvented a rule about how high one of his golf courses/properties could fly its flag. That, to the writer of the meme, made him a patriot…not, oh, I dunno, making sure more of his countrymen were healthy and well-fed and educated.
It’s not patriotism to me, it’s nationalism. Patriots don’t blindly look at their country and say how great it is no matter what. Patriots look honestly at their country, identify what is great about it, but also admit where we are failing and improve in those areas.
I hate hate hate fake patriotism. And it’s really gotten out of hand in the past 20 years.
