Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

Or this headline:

Thousands rally behind Trump, believing he won race he lost

“Thousands” may be pushing it. I am no expert but it looked more like a few hundreds. That said I am no expert on counting these things. Was there an official count? (I did not see any in that article)

I believe Kayleigh McEneny claimed millions. Just like on his Inauguration Day.

I always wonder if people like her are really that gullible or if they are fully aware of the bullshit they spew?

Oh, I don’t know. I stopped reading after “believing he won race he lost.” I can’t imagine the article goes on to top that!

You know, on Jeopardy, the lawyers were always the smartest, best candidates. They knew so much about a variety of subjects. But the lawyers we’ve been seeing in the DJT gummint… really dumb. Ill-informed as well as lacking in common sense.

Just to be clear, though, there was still no winning legal strategy. Just, maybe, non-laughingstock strategy. Giuliani is actually probably the better choice if you just want to keep the conspiracy theories churning, and the most rabid supporters riled up. The more rational ones are going to be accepting reality. Giuliani is the correct choice for Trump’s current strategy.

However, I do think the NY State Bar should be taking a look at whether Giuliani should continue to be licensed to practice law.

Sure, I don’t think they had much of a chance. They seemed to be nibbling away at piecemeal allegations. But at least it looked like they had the semblance of a legal strategising committee.

I’ve long thought this, and while they’re at it, they should have a squiz at Bill Barr’s standing. District of Columbia, too.

But that would only matter if Trump’s goal was to go out with some dignity.

You don’t suppose their actual reason for not wanting to be involved is that at this point they can see Trump hasn’t got a case and they’ll just look like fools for trying to bring one?

Probably easier for the campaign officials to try blaming it all on Guiliani.

@Peter_Morris, what’s the date of that video?

I just came across this (full title: “Trump Is Going Out Like He Came In: With His Press Secretary Lying About Crowd Size”):

1979. A cover version of a 1967 song.

I know, right? This paragraph really caught my attention in that fabulous Politico article that @Northern_Piper posted (bolding mine):

Campaign officials described the episode as disastrous, saying it scared off many of the lawyers they spent months recruiting, who now no longer wanted to be involved. With the campaign already facing exceedingly long odds in its recount efforts, there are widespread concerns within Trumpworld and GOP circles that Giuliani’s antics are thwarting the president’s legal machinery from within.

I’d like to talk to some of the reps from Porter Wright and Jones Day … c’mon guys, even before Trump put Rudy in charge, wasn’t the inevitability of a shit-show obvious? It appears that they are very stupid; it is the only explanation for why they allowed themselves to be recruited in the first place.

It probably was but money is money and when has an attorney ever let scruples get in the way of that?

But there are limits. Especially if they think the harm will be greater than the short-term gain.

He blew the chance at dignity when he pentulantly pouted and cried about fairness… before the fucking election.

Thanks. I was trying to figure it out by the intermittent shots of the things he was screwing up on.

– are you sure it’s that old, though? I would have taken it as being done when he was mayor.

Well, it isn’t actually about Rudy Giuliani. I just thought it was appropriate.

Ah. From the clips in the song I thought that version, at least, was. But maybe I was seeing in them what I expected to see.

Deep undead of some sort. I am checking all five Monster Manuals and still cant find a match.
