Josh Shapiro is one of the best attorneys general I can recall in any state. And yes, I’m a fan of Fetterman even though I’m not quite as left as he is
IANAL, but I read the entire opinion and it seems to me he not only struck down the complaint — he burned out the roots and salted the surrounding ground.
My favorite part is the very end
Defendants’ motion to dismiss the First Amended Complaint are granted with prejudice. Leave to amend is denied. “Among the grounds that could justify a denial of leave to amend are undue delay, bad faith, dilatory motive,prejudice and futility”.
Oh yeah… he was straining not to go apeshit on them; it’s pretty clear in his language that he was this close to outright calling it all frivolous and a waste of the court’s time.
Not five minutes ago I was standing at a flats-sorting machine to attend to a configuration issue. On the desk nearby I happened see an envelope with an absentee ballot that never got to its intended recipient in Irvine, CA. The postage was done on a postage meter, and was undated, so I don’t know if the voter had an opportunity to request a replacement (I hope she did).
The ballot had been sent by the Wayne County Board of Elections.
