He that planteth ice gonna harvest wind.

Opinion | Goodbye, Donald Trump. You were the worst of us.
Can anyone say they're more optimistic about America than they were five years ago?
He that planteth ice gonna harvest wind.
I assume Graham, Cruz, Hawley, Pompeo, and a bunch of GOP house twits will be the pallbearers.

At this point, I really don’t get why even those dimwits would go to the Trump waving bye bye party. Trump is a turd swirling around the bowl. It would do none of them any good to attend this sad little pity party. Sure they are hoping to get the positive attention of the Maga-heads… But they can turn on you like a rabid dog with no warning.
Less than 15 hours to go.
I’m only willing to trust that this election is over and done with - hell, I’m not ready to call 2020 over and done with - until Biden takes the oath of office tomorrow.
Then the election will finally be over, and 2020 will finally be over. Lord knows that there are many challenges ahead, but at least it’ll finally be a new day.
I feel exactly the same way. Once he is safely sworn in, only then will I feel okay about removing the Biden-Harris sign from my front yard.
A sarcastic and depressing article, and sadly true.

Based entirely on a TV show I hate myself for having sat through in its entirety, I assume there will need to be two designated survivors for the inauguration - one for the outgoing team, if it all goes bad before 11:59:59, and one for afterwards.
Do we know who has been appointed, espcially which of the modest, thoughtful, technocratic reluctant politicians of the Trump Cabinet drew the short straw (and the best excuse not to be sending off Air Force One as their boss flies into history)?
I am enjoying this countdown timer:
Counting time since Jan 20, 2021 12:00 noon. Showing days, hours, minutes and seconds counting up
Right NOW it is
13 hours, 39 minutes, 35 seconds
Ironically enough, as much as Spicer lied he turned out to be the best of Trump’s press secretaries…
Talk about setting the bar low!
Or damning with faint praise!

It wasn’t intended to be even faint praise. But Spicer at least was aware he was telling lies, and was seemed embarrassed about it. The others were either incapable of telling lies from the truth, or actually enjoyed telling lies.
Thing is, AIUI, Spicer had a prior reputable reputation. Maybe he wants a chance to start a new clean act and rehabilitate himself.
Hard to see him accomplishing that, however, if he’s reporting for Newsmax.
Who else would hire him? Man’s gotta eat and he’s not blueblood think tank material. Many DumpsterFire aides are being shunned by employers.
Given that Trump and Pence won’t be anywhere near each other today, that surely suffices for the outgoing team, such as it is.
I’m more concerned about the incoming team. Until Harris is officially VP, and until Ossoff and Warnock are sworn in, the Senate is still in GOP hands. That means that next in the line of succession after Pelosi, we have Chuck Grassley (Senate President Pro Tem) and whatever GOP Cabinet members whose resignations haven’t taken effect yet.
IOW, I sure hope Pelosi is somewhere else today, because if something happened to Biden, Harris, and Pelosi all at once at 12:01pm today, the Republicans would quite literally be back in charge, and I’m not sure that could be undone.
Then the election will finally be over, and 2020 will finally be over
Reminds me of the “long 50s,” that ended on Nov. 22, 1963.

And people still debate at what point in the early 1970s “the Sixties” ended.
True, though I’m of the Altamont school, myself.
Trump has left the building.
