Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

The problem is doing so potentially abandons abortion rights. Are we really going to go there?

Black americans: “help we are getting shot down in the streets”
Democrats: “hey, maybe black lives matter or something?”
White voters: “I am SICK and TIRED of these identity politics! I don’t want to hear about black people’s problems, OK?!”

Yeah, only the social progressive wing of the Democratic party engages in it to a degree anywhere approaching the GOP. The economic progressives and moderates do not and are indeed criticized for it by the social progressives.

The voters ARE stupid - but the voters are US!

As of this moment, looking positive for MI/WI/NV - for 270. Going for a long bike ride. Hope things look at least as good in a couple of hours.

It’s not identity politics if the identity in question is “rural fundamentalist christian white”.

I think abortion rights aren’t going anywhere, the only people you fight so hard against are the very religious right. The group isn’t the Republicans, AND it is shrinking.

CNN just said that all the election day in person voting was accounted for in Nevada, and the remaining votes to count were all mail in ballots, mostly for Clark County. I don’t see how Trump gets 50%+ of those votes. Nevada is probably safe.

Abortion rights are ALREADY GONE in red states. You don’t have true abortion rights if there’s one clinic and it’s 150 miles away and you need your parents permission to get an abortion.

Everyone wants to help, right until you exclude them or lump them into the out group.

Your priorities are wrong. Much like those of Trump voters.

How is saying “black lives matter” excluding anyone or putting them in an out group?

Sen. Bob Casey Jr., D-PA on the Today show just now:

I’m confident that Biden will eventually win PA by 100,000 votes. That’s a conservative number.

Wishful thinking?

The estimated percentage of counted votes has been moving around all day. It seems like it’s been consistently low. That’s been good news for Biden since he had a lot more ground to make up when I checked the numbers around six hours ago.

They must be since I don’t align with any party

Which leads us to:

What is taking Georgia so long? Concerned that NYT no longer showing that 60% probability for Biden.

You’re repeatedly demanding that the Democrats reason Trump voters out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into, and then blaming the Democrats for not being able to do so. And then calling others “arrogant” for pointing out the fundamental flaw in your argument.

But then “It’s the Democrats’ fault that people are voting for blatantly incompetent and corrupt Republican candidates” is a favorite narrative amongst those looking to blame the Democrats for, well, everything. It’s not a position based in reason either.

As already pointed out, even when the Democrats focus on economic issues they are accused of prioritizing “identity politics”, much in the same way that any economic policy they propose is called “socialism”. Also, the GOP has literally been pushing the return of redlining this campaign. Isn’t that “identity politics” writ large? Why doesn’t that sicken you even more?

One of the counties had a water pipe leak at the polling station which caused a problem. No ballots were distorted though. And then they decided to call it a night and resume counting in the morning.

Shows 64% for me right now.
