I think it’s just a case of swallowing too much right wing bullshit. Not that there’s an acceptable amount.
That is beautiful and I love it. I’m still grinning to split my face.
The SoS should in theory have the best information. That doesn’t mean that their website utilizes it properly, nor in a timely manner (their XLS download isn’t even in valid XLS format, for example). I also can’t find anywhere on the site, nor in their XML detail report, that mentions the percentage received in regards to mail-in votes. If that isn’t 100% yet, I’m fully on board with Nate.
Portland got rid of all meth and other drug-related crimes yesterday. Easy peasy. Let’s see a Republican mayor do that.
So I was work all day and couldn’t follow along. I see I missed this amazing STUPIDITY from Trump:
(CNN)President Donald Trump’s demand for vote counting to stop in an election that is still undecided may have been his most extreme and dangerous assault on the institutions of democracy yet in a presidency replete with them.
Trump appeared in the East Room of the White House early on Wednesday morning to claim falsely that he had already beaten Democrat Joe Biden, and the election was being stolen from him in a massive act of fraud. He vowed to mount a challenge in the Supreme Court and declared that he had already won states that were still counting votes, including Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Almost, because they are still minor tickets and ine and still Federal violations, but a great start. And sure, handing out a $100 ticket for meth is not so bad, eh?
Oh, he did…sort of
I was watching Fox News and they showed a little press conference.I’d been channel flipping and their analytics are pretty good…and they’ve been the first to call these last states. I think they are ready to run for the door, for the most part their coverage has been surprisingly neutral — sometimes I’ll be half-listening, thinking I’m tuned into the CNN, then I see the FOX logo and think —Trump must be really pissed at this coverage.
But the Trump campaign had a press conference and declared victory in the great state of Pennsylvania. Everyone was wearing masks except the active speaker, the election is over so they don’t have to pretend COVID doesn’t exist anymore.
They sent their best. Pam Bondi spoke, then Corey Lewandowski then…wait for it…Rudy Giuliani. I guess they were the only ones that didn’t want payment in advance.
Basically they were just trying to throw shade and allege fraud and claim all sorts of vague irregularities in the counting process. That little Guiliani troll was the best,he screamed about the corrupt Democrat machine in Philly then he pounded his fist about 125,000 ballots that MUST be thrown out because they were counted when he wasn’t looking, or something.
A rare laugh in the middle of a long long long horror movie. And I hate horror movies. Seriously, it was priceless.
Would like to point out - based on the numbers in front of me Biden has 4.4% more votes than Trump.
Which as you well know means almost nothing in this dumbass country.
Focus on the Electoral college because that’s what stinking counts.
Holy crap, FoxNews just called Michigan for Biden… 264, with 6-vote Nevada just waiting to bring it to 270.
Does anyone know the specifics of the rule that allows counting ballots in PA until Friday? Is it that any ballot not counted by Friday is tossed out, or is it any ballot that doesn’t arrive by Friday? Meaning, if a ballot is received today and they can’t get to it by Friday, is it counted or not?
If not, the Trump tactic of filing frivolous lawsuits to slow things down makes a lot of sense.
I see NBC has Michigan for Biden, but he’s only at 253. Who else does Foxy give him?
Just to update on Nevada - they have decided to release more vote totals tonight. This is due to “a lot of interest in how the vote is going in Nevada”. No shit, Sherlock.
Not clear when, other than “Wednesday afternoon”, which is, like now…
Fox News was the first to call Arizona. Many other networks did not (and have not), pending more information about what exactly is left to count (both type, quantity, and provenance).
I think CNN just said Arizona would release more vote totals at 9 PM, and again at 1230 AM.
Thanks! Strange times: I hope Fox is right.
Ok. I had taken today off so I could stay up for 48 hours straight following every nuance of the count. Instead I curled up into a fetal position and slept all day. However, I just woke up and tuned into CBS Live and I’m feeling positive. I think Biden will end up with both Nevada and Arizona, which I think will seal it, and he’ll also get Pennsylvania.
I have no idea what kind shit Trump is going to try to pull, but I’m feeling positive that we’ll have President-Elect Biden, officially, within the week.
It’s about counting ballots that arrive by Friday. It is not a deadline to have all ballots counted. (I think they may be segregating ballots that arrived after Tuesday though)
There is no limit on when things have to be counted by, other than general timeliness and whatever runway the state needs to do re-canvassing and certification work.
The Friday deadline you are hearing about is the rule that the state came up with where any ballot post-marked by election day would be counted as long as it was received by Friday. That was deemed a sufficient number of days to overcome the “unintentional” delays in USPS. Trump is once again challenging that rule.
I believe PA is segregating out those ballots (which at this point would be ones received after 8pm local yesterday) just in case they have to remove them due to a court order. Fingers crossed that either they don’t have to remove them or that they aren’t enough to change the vote either way (actually the latter would be preferable).
Sounds like they’re flailing, scared, and desperate. Good sign, in a sense.
