Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

Trump just filed a lawsuit to stop the counting in Georgia.

And when the director looked for him to do the scene, he was nowhere to be found. Someone said he was at his lawyer’s office…

So he knows he lost, good to know. The ragin’ cajun was pretty confident this morning.

[Actor’sFlourish] And, scene! [O/Actor’sFlourish].

As Joseph P Kennedy said to his son John, “I’m not paying for a landslide.”

He’s panicking. Good. Next stop - SDNY

I truly hope they get that chance.

As much as I’d like a landslide, a 270:268 win is comforting in one way: it means you compromised the minimum possible amount to win. Like a business bidding just one dollar less than a competitor for a contract job. Finding out that you massively underbid is a bad thing in that respect.

But if Biden takes Pennsylvania, GA, NV and AZ, he wins with 306, the number Trump won by. He makes Trump as big a loser as Clinton was.

Ah, don’t tease me, bro! Don’t do that. Don’t give me hope!

I’m seeing 88% and a shade under 200k difference - so 30k per percent seems to be holding.

What is their pace? 2% an hour? At that pace, crossover could occur in 3.5 hrs…

Yes he’s panicking, but be careful. A wounded, dying animal can be dangerous.

With his values and ideals I’d be very watchful for the crap he is going to be pulling these next days and weeks, and also the crap he’ll likely be pulling during his lame duck days.

CNN still haven’t called Arizona for Biden. Fox called Arizona for Biden on election night and doubled down on it when the Trump campaign urged for a retraction.

And they just went BACKWARDS - down to 87%. WTF?!

from CNN live updates

Trump has questioned legal efforts in calls with allies

From CNN’s Kevin Liptak

President Trump offered less-than-enthusiastic endorsement of his team’s legal strategy in phone calls with some of his allies on Wednesday, sounding resigned to the plan falling short and questioning why his team hadn’t successfully challenged voting rules before the election even as he remained willing to see it through.

???

Is men’s roller derby even a thing?

[quote=“Bullitt, post:1974, topic:924618, full:true”]

Indeed. My hope is that Trump is so preoccupied with election lawsuits in the coming weeks that he wouldn’t take the time to crater the country. But I guess he does have staff/administration that could take care of that for him.

Indulging my inner conspiricist

  • they thought they were but there was a bigger swing towards Biden than they “allowed” (if you were cheating, wouldn’t you want it close and less obvious than a North Korea level 98%)
  • whatever the cheating process involved - there were logistical limits on how much they could adjust the results (i.e they couldn’t tamper with all the machines or the cheating method they did limited them in some way)
  • Mail in and early voting overwhelmed the methodology they were using

Answer: No, not likely.

Something like that. I think I calculated around midnight CT a few hours ago. But it could be earlier or later. I presume that networks would be reasonably quick to call once Biden takes the lead.
