Looks like Oklahoma has dodged a bullet - the folks there have voted to forbid the use of sharia law in state courts.
Whew! That was a close one!

You gotta wait for Washington. So much of the population is in Pierce and King county, usually the rural vote is counted and recorded by the time the ballots are even loaded in Seattle.
I’m bewildered as to how our Liquor initiative is failing though.
Quoth Airman Doors:
Who’s Fast Eddie?
Arizona has 2 Congressional seats being decided, both have been Dems for years. Right now it looks like one might go Republican, but it’s not clear yet.
Ed Rendell, the soon to be former Governor of Pennsylvania (term limited out) whom apparently Airman does not care for.
You and me both. That’s the one that hurts me to hear about.
The AP is reporting that Boxer beat Fiorina.
While the House is definitely going to the Republicans, the Senate does not seem poised to do so. In terms of gloating rights, how does this stack up to the Republican Revolution of '94?
On the one hand, one could argue that in '94, the Republicans took both the House and Senate, but it seems to be with a lower margin than tonight’s current totals. On the other hand, one could argue that the total number of gains is the gloating point.
CNN has projected Jerry Brown beats Meg Whitman in California for governor.
Shockingly (to me at least), it looks like MO-3 might go GOP for the first time in forever. I’ll update my previous reaction to say that the Dems did the bare majority to avoid a thorough beat-down (holding the Senate). House results are likely to be atrocious, when the counting is done. And all of the closest Senate races (IL and PA in particular, are likely to be 1-2% losses for the Dems).
Looks like another win for the economy-based projection models - American voters don’t really give a shit about anything else, most times.
Interesting times ahead.
MSNBC is saying the GOP has picked up enough seat for 205 in the house, plus more might be won.
NBC just called Illinois for Kirk. I really hate being right sometime.
PA has been called for Toomey as well
That one has to be especially painful for BO. His old seat taken over by the GOP (although to be truthful, BO never spent much time in it).
Fox is calling Nevada for Reid.
Damn. I was raising chickens to pay off my medical bills!
Not all together a bad thing - would rather have him leading an almost evenly split Senate than Schumer
Rove is a RINO? Holy Crap, I guess everything really is subjective.
I certainly hope they are right. At least this way the Dems won’t have to use Biden to break ties all the time. I’m starting to think this is going to end up 51-49 in the Senate.
I missed the part in the beging when it was introduced as a concession speech. I thought she actually won for a moment! :smack:
Still a loss for dems though, since Leiberman will caucus with the republicans
