Connelly is ahead by 500 votes in Fairfax, Virginia. This area sent a moderate Republican (Tom Davis) to congress for years before Tom Davis retired in the face of the Obama wave in 2008. Connelly picked up the seat with a 15 point margin over Fimian in 2008, this year he looks like he might barely squeak by with a few hundred votes.
Compared to where we thought we would be a couple of month ago, this is better than Democrats could have expected.
I doubt it’s going to be that bad for the Dems.
In VA 11, its down to 500 votes.
Just shows you how out of touch this board is with the silent majority / tea partiers / whatever you want to call us. What we are not is dyed in the wool Republicans. They may become us, but not vica-versa. We have no love for Rove, Steele, etc.
B4 you shoot them in the head?
Buck has opened a 3 point lead in CO
That doesn’t make any sense. Tea Partiers don’t agree with Republicans, so the Republicans are RINO? Just because you have no love for Rove doesn’t mean he’s not a Republican. A real one, too.
Really? To guarantee that we need either CO, WA or AK to go to the Dems because there is no certainty about who a back stabbing traitor like Lieberman is going to caucus with.
Back-stabbing traitor? The Democrats tried to run him out of office. What does he owe them? And yet with the exception of the war, he still went with the Democrats on pretty much everything else.
I think your rhetoric is incredibly misplaced.
We’ll see.
Well, there was the small matter of publicly endorsing McCain for prez.
Presumably Lieberman would be happy to caucus with whatever party is in the majority.
You’re making the common error of not recognizing there are differences between the Republican leadership and Conservatives. Yes, Rove is undoubtedly a Republican, but the Conservative part…not so much. Bush I & II were perfect examples of this as they both moved away from their conservatism in favor of Rove’s branch of the Republican Party.
We can co-exist as long as they don’t start their RINO BS again. If so, there will be war within - but even if that does happen we’ll have a year to get it all sorted out.
Patton Oswalt? Explenn pliz.
I’d expect something a little more like this.
In some other good news here in Nevada, it looks like voters rejected proposed changes to PISTOL, which passed twice and is now state law. Another job well done, Nevadans!
Dude, shhhhh - you’ll tip them off
Then shouldn’t you say he’s a CINO? It’s weird to say he’s “undoubtedly a Republican,” then accuse him of being a Republican in name only.
It’s the old “most conservatives are Republican, but not all Republicans are conservative” line
