Euty, my friend, I think I may have a handle on the reason you titled the thread “Empty.” And that therefore congratulations and such are not in order.
I have only two things to say, one from my son, at age 18, and the other an old adage that I have no idea of the source of.
“Nothing ever ends well. If it was still going well, it wouldn’t end.”
“God never closes a door but he doesn’t also open a window.”
The ending of something you’ve invested a lot of yourself in, good or bad, is always a painful time. But you know what lies ahead, and that it’s good – and, knowing you, I’m confident you can say that you made the right choice, painful though it may have been.
Take solace in that, my friend. And know that we’re there for you, and with you.
