What the heck is this “Order Number” I keep seeing over and over again?
I just paid for someone who wrote me, and my credit card was charged, but I’m still seeing them as a Guest. I don’t know what I did wrong. I wasn’t given any kind of number like the ones I keep seeing. What happened?
(I copied and pasted that URL I saw earlier but that I can’t find now, the one that had XXXXX as a user id, which I replaced the X’s with the correct id, which worked, because then it took me to a page where I saw their name and info, and below it, an area to put my credit card information, which I did. After I clicked Submit it was like nothing happened. I wasn’t given any number like the one that keeps showing up in people’s posts, and wouldn’t have known that it worked at all except that I checked my value-added credit card balance, and yes, $14.95 was definitely deducted.)
It sounds like you did a copy and paste of the url in posts #298 and #301 (same URL, one is QED post, the other is my post)
When you change the XXX to the persons number it then should show their info.
sounds like this part worked OK.
then when you put in your CC info and hit submit, you should get returned a page that has the order number on it, and your “guest” is now a member.
It sounds like that last step is getting hosed up.
If I were you I would drop Tuba a note with all the facts you can gather and let her try to find out the gory details.

Maybe nothing. Their status won’t change until they’ve posted following payment. If they haven’t posted since you paid their sub, then that’s the reason.

If you have one more “sub to go” (hmmmmm!) I’ll not only be eternally grateful, but will “pay it forward” perhaps two-fold, three-fold, even four-fold. My main problem is a lack of credit card/PayPal or other online pay service.
