Esprix: Hypocrite, Asshole & also Gay

Thats supposed to be “no one” .
I must need a stiff dick in the ass to clear out the head.

I can understand why they might be silent because of the example of this thread. No one likes being called an asshat or a homophobe even if they are one and deserve it. What I don’t understand is where the idea that some ‘silent majority’ is supporting Ace’s position came from and is rearing its ugly head in the process. Could not the same be said for Esprix’s position? Maybe I missed something in my on again - off again lurking here.

An honest apology that proves that, at bottom, Esprix is basically a good guy.

d&r.

Shodan

Actually, on preview -

I think I got the “pipesmoker” reference. Does “skeevy” mean anything specifically other than “nasty”?

If it restarts the flames, please disregard. Just trying to expand my vocabulary.

I wasn’t saying that a silent majority was supporting either position. I was saying that Ace was saying he had invisible supporters, which more than often is what the ‘silent majority’ is.
Thanking conspicuously unnamed supporters is a tactic too well-used around here when a poster finds themselves on the business end of a virtual napalm strike. It’s like saying “All my friends agree with me.” ,which means jack shit if your ‘friends’ aren’t on this message board.

Of course. I think it’s the least Esprix could do.

Ah, that makes much more sense.
I don’t understand why a person would bring friends into any discussion if they weren’t there to defend their position. It is much more satisfying to stand on your own if you think you are right and prove it, than it is to find out you are wrong and realize your friends are as stupid as you are.

Bad idea. Esprix is a hair-puller.

:flees:

I think I’ll have to pass on that one.

nah, it doesn’t, really.
But I saw Esprix’s point, and think Ace overreacted.

Yeah, but I think Ace overreacted for effect.

Haven’t you been reading the thread Shodan? That should read:

"An honest apology that proves that, on top, Esprix is basically a good guy. "

Sheesh! Pay attention, won’t cha? :stuck_out_tongue:

Big time.

Damn… I thought this thread was done already. I thought that when Esprix apologized this trainwreck would be finished yet it rolls on and on.

ON the plus side, I did get to read a bunch of Ace’s previous posts and I don’t see him as being a raging homophobe.

Gobear made the most sense of anyone and I am in agreement with what he said.

Esprix stepped over the line. He apologized.

Ace may have over-reacted but he did have a right to be pissed off.

I think Esprix is a decent guy and don’t see too much wrong with Ace either.

Let’s stick a fork in this one and call it done.

This is ludicrous and insipid.

His4Ever, Jersey Diamond & Joe Cool, Ace of Spades and others can make hideous claims and remarks about other religions, sexualities, et al, and even when they are pitted, they are not hounded into an apology.

In July I was hounded to apologize for using the term breeder. Now Esprix has been hounded to apologize to Ace of Spades for suggesting he needs a nice, consentual hard dick up the ass to work that stick and bug out that has gotten lodged there.

What. The. Fuck.

Political correctness gone insane has been seen in both these threads and others.

If you want to be offended, fine. Be offended, be VERY offended.

Ace of Spades did not deserve an apology, nor did the rest of you who claimed such massive offense.

Your criticisms of Esprix appall me. He’s not allowed to be human and lose his temper and cool once in a great while?

Esprix has been one of the more moderate gay posters for the nearly four years I have been on this board. I have seen him lose his temper and go for invective very rarely. When he has, I think it has been completely justified.

Esprix makes light of the remark he made to Acehole about him recommending a dick in the ass for everyone and being non-discriminatory about it and he gets lambasted further.

Opal had the right idea. She took it with good humour and made a witty comeback. The rest of you who took it upon yourselves to demonize Esprix for that comment seemed to clench your sphincters so hard that the sound of that snapping shut overwhelmed the sound of your minds closing behind it.

For a board so dedicated to dispelling ignorance, there seems be some fear where sexuality is concerned.

I suggest you crawl off Esprix’s back(he is a top, after all) and examine why you felt you had to respond the way you did.

I think it is less about Esprix and more about fear and the rigidity of sexual/gender identity.

Let’s not stick a fork in this, it is far from done. I think it needs far more time in the oven at this point because it is raw inside and quite bloody.

Esprix is a top?

Are you accusing me of posting from “fear and the rigidity of sexual/gender identity”? The simple truth is that Esprix went over the top in his comments, he apologized, let’s move on.

Of course he is, Hastur. And he’s also expected to apologize for it, as we all are. And he has. It doesn’t matter what other people do or have done. What matters is that Esprix is at heart a good and caring person, that he is better than his detractors.

gobear and andros:

Bullshit.

Neither Ace nor anyone else deserved or merited any sort of apology for what Esprix said. He was bullied into it by the pile on of posters, mostly straight, who seemed to take MASSIVE offense.

As far as I am concerned with you, gobear, you either respond as Kirkland-lite or you are such an apologist that I wonder if you channel Andrew Sullivan in your spare time.

I do not presume to know Esprix’s mind. Everytime I have seen his posts, I believe he is very ethical and generally very thoughtful. My words represent my thoughts and opinion and are not to invalidate Esprix’s apology, though I think none of you deserved it and I feel it was browbeaten out of him.

He is a good and caring person. He is far superior to his detractors. Examine yourselves before you pick up your torches again. You have no place to claim damage or attack. If anything, most of you owe Esprix an apology.

Do top guys ever get it in the …? Or is that just the bottom guy?

Depends on the mood of the participant, ouisey.
