I’ve been to Twatt in the Shetland Isles, couldn’t go to Shetland and not visit Twatt
I used to live in Hicksville, NY
Nice idea for an original MMP, GardenTraveler, although I can’t really think of any unusual place names I’ve been to right now. I’ll have to thiink on that and post again later today. Nice to see you too, SpecialOne!
Happy Monday all.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ on a chilly Fall morn. It’s 48 Amurrkin outside!
Let’s see, I’ve been to Climax and Cumming in Jawja. I’ve been to Hot Coffee, MS. I’ve been to Peyote, AL. I know there’s lots more but I can’t think right now.
Happy Monday!
I live within a few miles of the OP’s Pisgah, OH so yes, I’ve been there.
Every time I travel to Hilton Head, I pass by an exit for Stinking Creek.
Up, caffeinated, off to irk.
Every time I go to TVLand I travel through Center of the World.
Likewise, I’ve been to Twatt in Orkney
I can’t think of any funny names I’ve actually been to. Maybe Llano - which translates to “flat plain” - which is exactly what the terrain is. Also West, Texas isn’t even near the west side of Texas.
Happy Monday, folks!
You didn’t say this right; It should have been:
George, Washington: slept here.
Brilliant.
My day just became infinitely better, due to a meeting being canceled.
Howdy, all! And a happy Monday morning to you. I dearly love our little town of Christmas where it is always Christmas.
I’ve been to Mount Pisgah, NC. A nice easy little hike to the top. I’ve been through Bat Cave, NC where they have the Bat Cave Baptist Church. Been through Erect, NC which is not far from Climax, NC on a school trip. This prompted us to ask the professor how long it takes to get from Erect to Climax. He wisely told us that it was not how long the trip took, but that all parties involved arrived together.
I’ve been to Bell Buckle, TN plenty of times. And Bucksnort, TN once. And I looked at buying property on Dismal Hollow Road, just because I liked the name so much. I’ve been to French Lick, IN.
I was downright chilly this morning. There was frost on the buckets when I went to feed the horses. It was 31 degrees outside and 57 inside, which makes me love my down comforter.
StG
They cancelled my trip. Only one guy is going now.
Bummer.
I live in the southern US. We have lots of fun place names.
There’s a Mt. Pisgah in NC. Just a few miles away from me. It’s the only place in NC where there’s a restaurant on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
There’s another town up here called Swannanoa, or Swannanowhere as the locals call it.
Western Carolina University is located in Cullowhee. You can get those white oval stickers for your car that say “Whee” for Cullowhee. My Older Sister and her husband have on for each of their cars.
One of the most triumphant moments of my life was when I found Lizard Lick on the way back to Pirateville from Raleigh one night. You can find it by turning off on the Zebulon exit from 264 East. First gas station you come to is in Lizard Lick.
There is also a Tick Bite in NC. Judging from the Wikipedia page, it’s just a wide place in the road.
You might have heard of Kill Devil Hills out on the coast. That’s where the First Flight actually took place, not Kitty Hawk.
Other fun NC town names: Seven Devils, Teachey, Waxhaw, Mar-Mac, and Pumpkin Center.

Sidney Ohio and Intercourse PA and FIRST!!!
The path from Blue Ball to Paradise goes through Intercourse.
This is true and can be verified by facts.

Howdy, all! And a happy Monday morning to you. I dearly love our little town of Christmas where it is always Christmas.
Yes but ----- Santa Claus, Indiana has Holiday World.
My office is very clean now.
What can I do next to avoid grading papers?

Go back in time and not give the exam, I suppose…
Sorry, that’s all I’ve got (and if you can manage to go back in time, you won’t have to worry about giving ot grading exams, ever again! :))
