Crazy day.
Too much going on and I feel like I’m going crazy too.
My mother called me up crying, she wants her house cleaned out. My niece keeps bringing more stuff. I said fine, I’ll come Saturday and I’m taking everything. I’m cleaning out the shed, I can use the rakes, shovels and weed whackers. I’ll take the furniture and I’ll sell or trash whatever I don’t want. I’ll take all the knickknacks and do dads and tools and whatever isn’t nailed down. I can use the extra vacuum, I wanted a second one so we don’t have to carry the one we have up and down the stairs. Besides the one I have is good for hardwood floors and doesn’t have a hose, it’s not so good on carpet. Her’s is good for carpeting and has a hose. I have no idea where I am going to put everything but I have two mostly empty bedrooms and a huge attic. I will NOT take the china and crystal, but I am more than happy to take the silver. Then I will spend years sorting through everything and selling it on ebay, or donating it or throwing it away but whatever.
Then I have to listen to how this cousin or that cousin helps their mother out and how that aunt always has somebody around to help. She doesn’t know what she is going to do over the winter, she can’t shovel snow anymore. So I pointed out to her that had she not let the HFH run all over us and drive us out of the house she’d have somebody to shovel the snow and mow the lawn and run things up and down the stairs for her and she’d be getting rent money - because she created this situation NOT ME, but I am the one she will call and bitch to.
Her retirement is more than my income and she doesn’t have a mortgage payment so I have no idea what she does with her money. Well yeah I do, she is constantly helping my niece because the HFH won’t do anything for her. My mother wants to know why the HFH dumps everything on her and I said *you have been letting her do it for the last 50+ years, why would she stop now? *
I live two hours away and I’m not going to be running down there all the time to help her. Everybody else lives closer - let them do it.
Do you know the HFH actually had the nerve to tell my mother that instead of paying $3000/month for senior housing she could give the HFH the $3000 and move in with her. For f’ing real!!! If my mother moved in with me I wouldn’t expect her to pay anything but her own bills and help out with food. Who in the hell charges a parent rent!!!
So I told her to make a list of what she wants to keep and I’ll do whatever I can to take the rest. I told her just get professional movers, it will probably be cheaper in the long run. I told OAOASO that since he owes me money he can help and I’ll wipe out what he owes me.
We’ll sort through the stuff this weekend and get the ball rolling. I told her to give everybody else a deadline and if they don’t come get their stuff she’s getting rid of it herself.
Problem solved!
Until everybody starts bitching about me taking everything and how it isn’t fair.
My sympathies Sari; we get to choose our mates, but we’re stuck with the family we were born into.
Feeling loggy today; in reward for refereeing 3 youth soccer games back-to-back-to-back on Saturday, I went to a local steak house (Oh! Bryans) and had their 16 oz sirloin with friends, Texas toast and Salad, and three glasses of sweet tea.
I don’t think I’ll be eating any dinner.
I got the NFL “Sunday Ticket” (which shows all the NFL games live) for free for switching to Direct TV this year. I suspect they’ll want money for it next year; I suspect I will probably pay it. Very convienent, even if the ()%^^ Browns still stink.
We have returned from that most gourmet of all places, Three Squares Diner. Both of us had the hamburger steak with onion gravy, smashed N.O.T., and sallit. Unlike Spidey who shared his sirloin with friends, we were greedy and each et our own hamburger steak.
Spent another busy day today. I lost 2.8 lbs. (go, me!), waited almost an hour at Denny’s for mediocre food, and knitted for a while. The Cowboys lost, the Steelers won, and dinner was pizza and strawberry frozen yogurt. I’m going to try to see the SuperBloodEclipse later, but who knows.
Right after we switched to Fios they took BBCA away from the tier we have. :smack: I have been able to get a lot of the earlier ones, even some of the first two Doctors, on a couple of the Retro stations.
You know that old slogan “You’ve got a friend in Pennsylvania”? Well – forget it! You dare besmirch the name of the great state that brought the United States, its first (and so far only) Diggerland? You are a cad and a scoundrel ------- or you live in Arkansas. One of the two.
I made poke chops with orange ancho sauce, sweet taters with cinamon and allspice, and asparagus with cumin, garlic, and grape tomatoes. Watching Sunday Night Football.
Congrats on losing it, Rockin’!
Ruble, I haven’t seen much of the first two Doctors. PBS always cycled from Three on forwards.
sorry about the drama, Sari.
Sunny, it sounds good, until you talk about putting a $250 bird in an apartment with a 60lbs. dog that eats flying things.
