Well I was someone who only reported him once and I wasn’t part of the nether world Conversation and assault. I think the one time I reported him was a legitimately inappropriate post. I have already said I hope he comes back and behaves. Unlike Exy opinion of EC, I do think EC contributes good posts most of the time.

Yeah, except that if you’ve ever visited the snarkboards, it’s pretty obvious they’re anything but an organized group. That’s one of the reasons I like the place, actually - without the use of usernames, there’s a lot less ego-tripping and a lot fewer people forming stupid little teams the way Evil Captor’s crew did. Since I started one of those pit threads, I can tell you with absolute certainty that I was grossed out by Evil Captor for quite some time - long before I caught wind of it on the snarkboards. It’s false - and a sleazy argument tactic to boot - to claim that I started that thread as some sort of “representative” of the snarkboards. If you ever visit, you’ll see how obvious it is that people there don’t team up on anything. Cool it with the character assassination, big guy.
As long as other people took the hijack back up, I’m looking for some clarification from someone who doesn’t think “I don’t like it” is the same as “it’s unintelligible.”

Indeed. I really do hope that he comes back, I enjoy seeing him post in political threads. I, for one, couldn’t care less if he talked about bondage in every single post, but with the info you’ve provided about Lib getting warned for hijacking, it does seem like that’s an established rule on this board. So I can’t really object to the decision.
From what I have seen it makes the pit look polite and sensible and you have more detractors there than here. Or is it just 2 or 3 extra vocal ones?
I really think that EC managed to annoy a large amount of people on his own. His off target BDSM posts in the Cafe especially upset people. I usually passed them over or laughed at them, but I saw a lot of anger towards him. I don’t think we need a conspiracy theory to account for the report this posts against him.

In Operation Ripper’s own words, he agreed with what I said, and dropped his part in the spat. Don’t know why you’re having quite so much trouble understanding what’s in black and white, but that aint exactly my problem, nor my concern.

But yeah, I’m certainly not the favorite at the snarkboards - and I’m sure you won’t think ill of me if I admit I’ve never worked all that hard to cultivate a following there. Which just makes it even more obvious that I was not leading some sort of snarkboard invasion - because no one would follow.
Not to mention that, IIRC, when the thread over snarkly way about him was going, there were several people who said that they had reported a post here or there in the past, and that they were glad to know they hadn’t been the only ones.
With any topic involving deviant sexual activity, it’s easy to get caught in the too-PC mindset. “Am I the only one who thinks he’s being inappropriate? Am I secretly a little bit uptight? Maybe I’m the only one who notices that a LOT of his posts in non-sexual threads seem to end up tilting toward bondage. Am I just being intolerent?”
As has been pointed out many times - and is true, so sorry - on this board people with an alternative lifestyle (of WHATEVER type) seem to get a lot of support merely for the FACT that they’re not “normal” (pick your own definition; this is subjective to all). It’s difficult to be the first person to publicly step up and say, “Um, I like to think I’m broad-minded, but I’m getting a little bit squicked by this guy…” It’s far too likely that you’ll be jumped on by people who defend for the sake of defending.
