Evil Dead Mafia II - Teaser and Sign-Ups [Game On!]

OAOW – can you point us to a breadcrumb of your results on Guiri/Tom?

Will unvote brewha and vote Tom when I get to my computer. Even if OAOW is lying, I like that trade right now.

Well, damn. I should have gotten my fake-claim as a watcher out yesterday; coming in after One y’all will just lynch me anyway. So here’s the PM:

Anyway, I have the book, and I’m better at using it than anyone else in the game. Among other things, I can protect people from night kills (I’ve been protecting myself so far every night), do a super Watch, and, oh, yeah, you might as well say hello to my little friend.

TOM SCUD gestures to the Zombie Squirrel, which runs up onto his shoulder and chitters at the rest of the players.

This little beauty put an end to Astral and to Special Ed. Since I’ve half-won the game for Town, I’d kind of like to help finish the job. I need to go but I’ll post the book powers in an hour or so from work.

As promised, and now the decision is made simple…

unvote brewha
vote Tom Scud

I think the point that peeker already filled the role of scum roleblocker pretty much rules brewha out of that slot. (Assuming OAOW’s confirmation can be trusted.)

In fact, it’s probaby worth looking at the chains of “confirmation” here:

Stanislaus <–> Normal

brewha<–OAOW–>Natlaw

OAOW–x->Tom Scud

If we can confirm OAOW then we’ll go some way towards getting two more confirmed (although strictly speaking OAOW is only confirming brewha’s power, and Natlaw’s role name and power type, not alignment) and a non-Town actor.

In the meantime, I see no reason not to:

unvote brewha
vote Tom Scud
On preview - that pretty much OAOW did what he said he did. I’m still voting Tom because a) we have to kill him sometime and b) his interest now is in killing Town off, because if the last Scum falls too soon, he can’t win.

i didn’t think of a good way to breadcrumb it unfortunately

See? This is why I didn’t want to go all willy nilly blocking every night. Figures I’d end up blocking a town power role.

As for Tom Scud? Should we let him live? I mean I do appreciate the helper squirrel (which is awesome BTW! Bravo Story!) but if we do vanquish the deadites, Tom and his squirrel will be coming after town, right?

Also, does the squirrel count as a PFK? :slight_smile: We’re likely looking for Tom and one other one, right?

Also, what your angle, Tom? You are admitting that your win condition can’t happen with town still alive.

Why would we let you live?

I’d kind of like to be Superman for another couple days. It’s fun.

ETA (because I can): and I’m a total moron. Idle pointed me STRAIGHT AT OaOW and I had to go kill ed for you instead yesterday.

I can confirm that OAOW targeted Natlaw with an investigative ability last night.

In light of current events, unvote lilflower.

Vote Tom Scud.

Er, that would be last Night.

Finally, the Book, revealed!

Necronomicon, Part 2
Each Day and each Night, you may choose to do any of the following things:

 1. Keep the Book and do nothing with it;
 2. Pass the Book to another player (note that this may be subject to observation);
 3. Return the Book to its pedestal in the common area;
 4. Use a power from the Book.

If you choose to use a power, you must select a power and a target (living or dead, although some spells may not work on the one and other spells may not work on the other).

PLEASE NOTE: Other players who use the Necronomicon do not know the nature of the powers in the Mad Arab’s book, and must guess at the effect of each ability based on its name. You know the actual affect of every power (outlined below). Furthermore, in some cases powers are more potent in your hands than in the hands of any other player; those powers are noted in purple text below.

FINAL NOTE: The powers of the Necromicon stem from extremely dark magic. If any player other than you should use this magic too often, they will go insane, die, and be absorbed into a hell dimension. You, however, have no such restriction. Have fun!

The Book’s powers work as follows:

Dread Curse (Day/Night): Loud curse word is heard in association with the target’s name, echoing throughout the Cabin during Dawn/Dusk colour. This has no effect when used by any other player; when you do it, all protective powers targeting your target will fail for the following Day/Night cycle.

Dread Magnetism (Night): Any effects targeting you will instead affect the target. However, the target will know by whom they were targeted with this effect.

Dread Visage (Day/Night): The target is protected from Night kills for the coming Night, or from Day kills for the coming Day.

Dread Fire (Day/Night): A small, dark fire appears on the victim’s head, visible to all; has no apparent effect and fades after one half-cycle (ie, if the spell is cast at Night, the fire will appear at Dawn and fade at Dusk of the following Day). This has no effect for most players; for you, however, it allows you to Watch your target for the half-cycle in question and see what he/she does, what is done to him/her, and what the results might be.

Dread Containment (Day/Night): The Book is hidden among the possessions of the target for one full Day/Night cycle (this has not practical effect on the target, and the Book cannot be taken from him/her even if he/she is killed). During this period of time, you will not be a Miller and will not appear to have the Book; the Book cannot be lost or stolen during this period. At the end of the period, the book returns to you.

Dread Fingers (Day/Night): The Book snaps shut on your and returns to the pedestal. You will no longer be permitted to touch the Necronomicon after using this spell. You should definitely consider NOT using this spell.

Dread Forgetting (Night): The target cannot act or be acted upon for the Night.

Dread Whisper (Day/Night): The target receives a 10-word message from the holder of the Book.

Dread Darkness (Day/Night): The target cannot conduct any investigations for the Day/Night cycle during which the power is used.

Dread Resurrection (Day/Night): Regardless of target, this spell creates a zombie from a dead non-player (might be a squirrel, might be a plant, might be anything). The zombie cannot be killed and does not appear to affect the game, but it does… when you possess the Necronomicon. See below.

Dread Army (Night): Send a zombie to kill a player of your choice. Only works once a zombie has been created.
So, finally, the offer: I will NOT cast Dread Fingers. Sorry about that, if you want me to do that just lynch me.

As to how you can trust me, I do have that one power that has a visible effect (well, and Dread Curse but I’m guessing you won’t want me to use that one) - I can Watch one player per day and night and you’ll be able to tell that I did.

Alternately, I can use my other powers as directed and we can get this puppy over with in a couple more Nights. Note that I’m the only one who can use Dread Army; if you pass the book to a probable Town player like Maha or Drain, they can use the protective spell, at least until they get dragged to Hell, but no bonus kills.

Also, on consideration, I still think Nanook is our last scummer.

vote Nanook

**vote Tom Scud **

As much as it’s helped us to have **Tom **kill two scum, I think it’s dangerous to keep him alive at this point since he’s probably going to start killing town soon.

Also, a request. If you’re going to turn down my generous offer, please final vote me.

Out of curiosity, would you have seen it if I’d killed OaOW last night?

ETA: edit edit edit, edit all day long. Edit edit edit, we sing the edit song.

defo, plus is it intention that he killed scum, or was he just shooting and it turned out he hit scum? Could it as easily have been a couple of town?

Well, DUH. Here’s my note to Story this Morning:

You could have at least tried to make us believe that you were willing to help town. This isn’t really helping your cause. (on preview, I see that he admits to trying not to target scum)
And as for final voting? I’m not sure what your angle is there, but it feels like a trap.

Vote Tom Scud

Also, just an FYI. If Tom survives the day, and there’s no objections, I will be blocking him tonight. So, if anyone wants to off him, he won’t be able to self protect. Scum? Vig? Other PFK? He only wins if you die.

I haven’t got the faintest idea. story has been rather deliberately obscure when I’ve asked hypotheticals about the use of my objects.

However, since I was Tracking rather than Watching, my guess would be that I wouldn’t have seen anything other than what I did, that is, OAOW’s action, not actions targetting him.
