Can be used to shield someone with your life or to hide behind a random player and hope he isn’t targeted.
I think it would be best used to protect a claimed doctor/investigator if there at least some reason to believe they aren’t faking it. Perhaps a mason would be best. Because it might get you killed I would say use it last.
Standard tracking. Can be used to confirm a power used or catch someone in a lie. I would use it on someone you find suspicious more than on someone you trust. I don’t think it should be used to verify claims.
Boost a power. Would be best use on an investigator but since you also claim some protective charm it would need to be one or the other. If truthful is makes a roleblocker very probably and likely a scum one but might also be meant to pierce protections (which makes it more likely a anti-town power).
No alignment but could be used to catch a lie which implies it might be best used on someone likely to claim which means likely to be lynched.
Weak protection but would tie up another power if someone wants to kill the target.
Vigilante/Serial Killer protection - a bit odd but Evil Dead I had two serial killer (not sure a vigilante) so it might be useful.
So in general you got protective trinket and investigative ones. Since no protectors are out in the open and since I agree with the general sentiment that your prompt claim looks more town than scum: I would say to risk it and investigate and ask to be protect be someone else so you can return the favor in the future. Of course, it’s your call.
Might as well go on:
Role block?
Random redirect?
Make miller? Or similar to the incense: prevent action against the target except from Deadite?
Kill?
Other role block or get information from a corpse?
Yet another role block?
Protection?
YARB?
Block/protect?
Zombie puppet (like Evil Dead I)
It might be worth confirming the protective ones which I think would be more benefitical to town.
What he’s saying is that any action taken by the target of White Powder becomes unblockable.
If the scum have a roleblocker, they can use it to stop a power role from using their abilities. White Powder is a one-shot “booster” that allows their powers to work even if blocked.
I agree with Natlaw’s analysis, by the way. The fact that you have a power that undermines a roleblocker would imply that there’s a scum roleblocker.
Thank you, Astral. I see now what Natlaw was saying, and I agree with both your assessments; Scum probably have a role-blocker. This is consistent with Evil Dead 1, Harry Potter, and LotR. Also, as Natlaw pointed out, a couple of the Necronomicon powers seem likely to be role-blocks. So there’s a whole lotta blockin’ that may be goin’ on.
Btw, did I mention how well you played in LotR? Quite a contrast to this, my first outing.
I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. NAF said he hadn’t decided what, if anything, to do with it, and I haven’t seen anything that indicates he has made a choice yet.
I presume this means that NAF still has it. And perhaps he should use it once and then give it up. I can’t make heads or tails of all those curses on the various pages, but I’d go for an investigative type one if I could make one out.
Not sure if it would be better for NAF to give it to a specific person or just put it back on the pedastal and let us have a free for all. If NAF is scum, he could just pass it on to another scum buddy. On the other hand, in a free for all, scum would have an equal chance of getting it, and it does seem like we might be able to direct it towards a townie if we can direct who NAF gives it to.
What’s the worst case scenario for the Book? The way I look at it, the worst case is the Scum team getting a hold of the book without anyone knowing it. My understanding of the book mechanism as it has been elucidated thus far is that once a player has it, it’s his/hers until he passes it along or puts it back on the pedestal.
Since we only know for sure who has the book when it is taken during the Day it might be better to have the book back on the pedestal before Dawn. This would give one night’s worth of power usage. My main concern with this idea is that if a Scum player is able to obtain the book, everything s/he does will be clouded by the book’s presence and the ability to pass it silently to other scum team members during the Night. I think it is in the Town’s best interest that the Book be on the pedestal at every Dawn and if not, we’ll lynch the previous Possessor.
I asked what I’d said that made you think I was convinced that Roman was town.
No, again, that’s not right. I said I’d be surprised if he was mafia.
No, that’s just plain bollocks. Pointing out a possible case that might be made against me is nowhere near the same as saying “in that case, I’ll be mafia”.
The case I made against myself was weak as shite. That’s why nobody else voted for me, and why I’ve been demanding a better justification of your vote. It seems, though, that your explanation involves a bizarre misreading of everything I said.
Is this an attempt to appear unreasonable, and thus fit back into your standard townie behaviour pattern, as described by special ed?
