Evil Dead Mafia II - Teaser and Sign-Ups [Game On!]

I’m back, the in laws are all settled into their winter home. I’m sorry I missed the Day end.

NAF is now the top of my suspicion list for wanting to hold onto the book.

He’s making it so nothing he’s told us can be verified. He’s got all the power in his hands and yet, he could be scum himself. He’s even covering himself “under the curse of Night”, I assume, meaning no Night action would find him…so no Town Vig (if there is one) or Serial Killer (if there is one) could kill him off nor could he be investigated by anyone (if there is that type of role).

Essentially, he’s keeping all of the secrets closet at hand and we have only his word on things. I don’t like it. I don’t like putting that much trust in one person with no way to verify it.
I stand by my opinion that it’s better for a bunch of people to try for the book and no one person keep it and that anyone who keeps it more than a Day or Night cycle be regarded with extreme suspicion.

If you have a better plan, let me know. Right now this one has the highest risk/reward ration that I can think of.

  1. we know where the book is
  2. we know that it won’t be used against anyone but me
  3. we find out how long it takes to kill a player
  4. we find out what the books powers actually are without having to try it out on town

It essentially neutralizes the book for as long as I stay alive and puts it back into the game as less of an x factor after I die.

Ah, but see, we have only your word on this…since you refuse to let anyone else see for themselves if this is true.

I can change what power I use if town wants, I just picked the one that seemed like it was worded as a beneficial power.

You don’t have to believe me, but really, I am not holding the cards here. Everything I have done has been right out in the open so that there is no mystery about it. I would have posted all of this sooner, but I didn’t think of how to use the book without it hurting anyone until last night.

Are you not town then?

How about this Idle. I will give you the book if you promise to make the same deal and use it on yourself until you die. The second we find out that you are not using it on yourself you get lynched or vigged.

Fair trade? It doesn’t have to be me. I just figured no one else would volunteer to be killed.

I am town, but it’s not really much of a loss if I get killed. I can’t really keep paying *this *much attention to the game for much longer for out of game reasons.

Sorry, I don’t want to keep the book, like you, I’d prefer it going to a few others first, so they can–you know–actually verify the things you say are true. At LEAST that. Don’t know why you wouldn’t want what you say to be verified. So if you’re looking for another plan, mine would be for it to be taken by at least two or three other people (TAKEN–not passed–because scum could just keep passing it to themselves), that way different (and random) people can verify what you say is true.
I think the book should continue to change hands…and that anyone who refuses to give up the book be regarded with huge suspicion.
Oh sure, doing it that way might let it fall into scum hands now and again…but none of them would be KEEPING the book. As it is now, you are keeping it…yet we don’t know if you’re scum or not.

NETA: To be more clear…I’d love to have the book for one round, but I don’t want to keep it. I’d rather it get passed around to a few people, with nobody keeping it indefinitely.

How do you know you aren’t passing it to scum?

I just said: You don’t pass it to anyone. You put it back on the pedestal and let everyone else try for it.

And then I said: Sure, scum may get it once in awhile…but at least no scum would be KEEPING the book (lest they want threat of high suspicion and being lynched).

Also, what I say will be verified when I die.

And when they get the book, what do they do with it? Use it on some random person without knowing what it does? You can’t put it on the pedestal AND use it in the same Night. It’s either or, so if this game lasts a normal 8 - 10 Days only 4 other people besides me will get it, tops with your plan.

If one of them is scum and they know how to use it to help them out then it would be devastating for them to have it for 2 Nights before anyone became suspicious of them for hanging on to it for too long.

We need to keep the book away from scum entirely. Not just mostly.

Fine, then four other people. Better than having someone who could be scum keeping it always, in my opinion.

NETA:

And YOU could be scum. Lying scum.
You’re not letting anyone else verify anything.

Could be. Feel free to lynch me.

Well, that’s exactly my plan - except made to actually work. I wasn’t sure how we could learn more about the book without endangering townsfolk. I’m all for NAF holding it and trying his best to kill himself.

Assuming NAF is town and follows thru with what he says, it pretty much takes the book out of the game and allows us to know where it is and how it can be used.

OTOH, what if NAF is scum? Would we have anyway of know whether or not he is taking action on himself? Or could he use the book against the town without our knowledge?

Also, what if we did lynch NAF? Would it tell us anything? If he’s in possession of the book, wouldn’t he show up ass cum* - whether he is or not? He’d have to give it up before hand, and by then we’ve wasted a whole cycle.

*sorry, sorry I couldn’t help it.

Night One ends in 30 minutes. Get those actions in!

Either you’ve not read, misread, don’t understand what you’ve read, or don’t understand how the Miller role works.

Because as it is, I’m pretty sure it was said whoever holds the book is currently a Miller. That means if NAF is lynched or dies and REALLY IS on the Town side, he wouldn’t show up as scum, he’d show up as a Miller (a Miller isn’t scum).

If NAF is lynched or dies and shows up at scum, then he was scum all along…the book has nothing to do with it.
