You had a better right to it than I; I didn’t play that game. I’m rereading it now, and a long tedious slog it is. The color is wonderful, though.
I got a PM. My guess is that everyone but (scum - 1) got the ‘not yet scum’ one which means a mass claim ‘possible scum’ won’t help us much. On the other hand since powers haven’t been distributed yet so I don’t see any immediate harm in doing a mass claim.
Anyone else see a down side to it? Perhaps it could be that the masons for example also get to pick one?

I like that scum get to recruit before the roles are handed out. Weird mechanism and there are lots of fun twists to discuss.

Why would anybody claim anything other than “You are possible scum.”?
Why would anybody claim anything other than “You are not yet scum.”? Please excuse me; I’m a newbie, so I need to have things spelled out.

I also don’t know what Natlaw is smoking. Story has quite clearly stated that only the (scum -1) have had their roles assigned yet. Any Masons (should there even be any) are still a twinkle in the eye of Fate.

The Mod has told us two kinds of PMs will be sent:
- You’re not scum, yet
or - You’re scum - go pick a playmate
Why would anyone receiving PM no. 2 say they did?
And what would the risk if they lied and said they got PM no. 1?
So Scum would run no risk what so ever, if they lied and said they got the PM qouted by the Mod in his post.
I’d like to talk about this part of the rules.
In mafia I really, really don’t like to see a post edited.
So this rubs me the wrong way because when I come across a post that has been edited, I don’t just “frown”…
