Explosions at Boston Marathon

Watching the press conference live. Worst police hat ever.

From the Uncle, off the cuff remarks, pretty remarkable, iMO:

“I say, I teach my children, and this is. what I think myself: this is the ideal micro (?, couldn’t tell exactly) world in the entire world. I respect this country! I love this country! This country, which gives chance to everybody else to be treated as a human being and just be human being. To feel yourself human being. That’s what I feel about this country.”

Yeah. Teenage boys are jerks and take stupid chances.

I was most struck by the comments of his wrestling coach. He had nothing but really good things to say about him, and sounded incredulous that he could do it, even after all of this.

I struggle with sympathy for him though, after that terrible photo of him, with his backpack on the ground, and the little boy who died hanging on the fencing :frowning:

I love that man.

I don’t know if Uncle Ruslan drinks, but if he does, I think a lot of people will want to buy him a beer. If not, give him a TV show.

First tweet by Dzohar Tsarnaev, two and a quarter hours after the bombing?

Awe jeez, I can’t see that at work. Could you cut and paste it? Pretty please?

“Ain’t no love in the heart of the city, stay safe people”

Thanks.

Whitesnake? I’m thinking maybe Jay-Z.

BTW I said two and a quarter hours after, but I’m not sure how Twitter timestamps work. Do they use local time or some central system time?

bolding mine

Aha! He really is evil!

He also replied “fake story” to someone who posted a pic of a victim:

(It was actually a fake story, but still…)
ETA: Wow, you have to feel sorry for the father. His life is totally in pieces right now.

Since he’s 19 I assume he’s thinking Jay-Z, but it’s a great older song. Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City - Wikipedia

Jahar’s (Dzhokhar’s) last tweet on April 17 was a retweet of “Muslim scholar” Mufti Ismail Menk:

Who was the guy they showed all night, face down on the street in front of the Bedrosian funeral home? The dead brother? The naked guy?

Who was naked guy, anyway? That had to suck.

I struggle with sympathy for him though. . .

I get it. Me too.

To discourage profiling or the temptation to think with my heart I listen for patterns of behavior. That was just one example I heard where he had acted in disregard for safety. Means little at present. May mean more in the future. Especially if he had a part in storing explosives where families lived.

I haven’t got a straight story on the face down guy. He was definitely alive. The naked guy was some fool who didn’t follow police instructions, and IMHO got what he deserved.

I’m getting a picture here that the older brother, now dead, was some kind of psychopath, and his younger brother may have been weak-willed pawn. Not totally weak-willed though, he ran over his older brother to get away.

I believe someone said earlier that one of the overnight press conferences cleared up that face down guy and naked guy were the same guy.
Newscasters just said that people didn’t want to drive with the guy because he was a terrible driver. Adding “Yeah he drove over his own brother to escape”

They just released another car to look out for…Green Honda now

Wow! Yesterday he was nothing, today he’s already had two on screen roles.
