Face Off Against Moanday: A Start Of Hockey MMP

The yarn has arrived!! It was out for delivery at 7 this morning and arrived at 4 this afternoon. Yay, FedEx. :stuck_out_tongue: At least I can continue, then finish, my projects.

FCD is awaiting a phone call from the rescue group that has an Irish Wolfhound that he wants more than just about anything. For whatever reason, he’s obsessed with that breed. He’s even willing to adopt a boy, even tho he wants a girl. I shall not speak unless spoken to. I’ve decided it’s not right for me to deny him something he wants so much. For me it’s a preference, for him it’s more important.

Supper will be potato pancakes and scrambled eggs just because. And some sort of fruit.

Phone time!

Is it wrong of me to always want to pronounce it ‘yarrrrn’?

I had my eye doc appt today. Their eye pressure device is painted in zebra stripes. I have glaucoma, controlled by drug, and when the zebra licked my eyeballs, it said 10 and 11. That’s very good. They gave me the vision field test where you look into a big white sphere with a zillion little flashing lights and a button to click when you see something. “If you see something, click something.” This time, I got that test before the doc shined the extremely bright light in both eyes. That was a nice break.

We got our batch of new jigsaw puzzles yesterday. The one we started is Words of Wisdom. Some of the wisdom is iffy, like “You only fail when you stop trying.” Oh, well, if you get your wisdom from a jigsaw puzzle…

Quite the dead day. Other than exercise, I did NOTHING other than make breakfast and heat up leftover lasagna. I ordered a couple of things from Amazon last night, but apparently forgot to hit the “purchase” button.

I just got booked to dogsit all day tomorrow. I have that friend coming for lunch, but luckily this is the Very Chill Dog. I’ll have him until 7 or 8 pm. Then I’ll have Ms. Dog Wednesday late afternoon until Thursday afternoon, when I’ll get squished (for reals this time). Ms. Dog is non-paying, but the other pays, so I should earn a few $$$ his week.

I hate that test. For some reason, I get test anxiety and am afraid I’ll miss a flash, so sometimes when there’s a little lull, I panic and click. It’s #3 on my List of Eye Tests I Hate. Sounds like you breezed through it though!

Speaking of the FedEx delivery, I have to share this:
Imgur
The shadow in the upper right corner is the back of my car. The upper left is a step to the porch, entirely out of the way of any vehicle backing out of the garage. This is not the first time they left a delivery behind my car. It is fortunate that I have to walk around the back of my car to get into it because I pull up really close to some shelves so that opening the passenger doors won’t hit FCD’s car.

Every other delivery we get goes on the porch, except on the occasions when Brown will actually carry boxes into the garage forward of the cars, and that’s why I lurve them!!

Supper was just scrambled eggs. FCD wasn’t hungry enough for anything else. So, quick and easy. And so ends a relatively chill day.

I really hate rain. Went to job, she copied my i.d’s, sent me onboarding to fill out.
I come in Thurs.
Left with free meal.

I have found both lenses from my glasses, so no lens inside the dog. She’s still being quite annoying, but I guess that goes with an 11 month old puppy. Right now she’s trying to figure out how to get her squeaky ball out from under a rocking chair. Mostly that involves barking at me.

Hey, no squeaky toy over here.

The Super Bowl is the only one I watch any more. When they first came to Nashville, I was a regular at Titan’s games, helping serve as a hostess for SIL’s place of employment. They had 22 PSLs with really good seats and they entertained clients with a big tailgate (the grill was nearly half a parking space big) and then the game. Growing up, we used to hit a Fort Wayne Komets game about once a year. In Nashville, I went to several Preds games, but Houston has no NHL affiliate. About the only sport that I would attend on my own is baseball and I prefer minor league for that.

Well, I bought an unplanned phone today. I went to the Xfinity store to get my phone switched from AT&T (I tried it myself and kept getting the locked message). The young woman helping me kept getting the same message, so we called AT&T. It’s carrier locked. , Given that it’s a Samsung, it cannot be unlocked (most other brands can be unlocked, shoot I used to be the one who was in charge of unlocking them). They wouldn’t give a reason why they locked it. I purchased it outright, have no outstanding balance with them, etc. So I upgraded from an A14 to an A16. Everything is now transferred that I’ve checked out (Gmail, banking apps, other bill paying apps, pics, contact list, etc). By the time I got home, it was time to take Nelson out. This evening, I’ll finish up the 50th anniversary card for my cousin and her husband (one of the ones on Dad’s side that I enjoy talking to).

She almost made a spectacle of herself!

Howdy Y’all! Been a lazy, sniffly and sneezy day for both of us. I have Spring and Fall allergies so not unusual for me, but it is for OYKW. I think we will sleep with Ben tonight. The chikin ‘n dumplin’s and collard greens were delicious. There are leftovers for tomorrow as well.

I picture a MMP fight as havin’ a lot of cream pies. I would particularly enjoy bein’ with chawklit cream and coconut cream pies. Especially coconut as OYKW does not like coconut so I don’t get it very often.

Rolls up newspaper and brandishes it.

Choclit cream might be harder to clean off.
Maybe nerf sticks?

Well done!

Nellie, yuck!

GAME ON! And you know you’ve been watching a sport for a long time when there are two players on the ice that you remember their dads playing for the team.

Judging by her posts, they somehow obtain negative knowledge from the Uni.

Calvinball?

< laughs in goaltender interference >

Technically the other dog doesn’t pay either, the owner does. But yay $$!

Well, if you were a good canine servant, you’d have it out without Peach having to yell at you.

Waves at everyone. I haven’t gotten arrested yet, but things are getting seriously scary nowadays.

I’m also having serious tech issues and am hoping to not have to do a factory reset on my desktop. I’m in the process of grabbing what I can, but we are fairly sure hardware is fried.

I’ll try to catch up when I have a working comp, I hate typing on my tablet.

Good evening all. Errands erranded, Gym got gymmed and soccer was refereed. An adequate amount of calories were shed so I didn’t feel too guilty having a Double Meat Whataburger with cheese and large fries for dinner. Am now catching up and relaxing some, a fairly busy day for this RDOS. Got a little rain (rather patchy, you could drive 3 blocks and it was perfectly dry) and it’s cooling down for the evening, so the AC will be getting some time off in a little bit.

57 messages for a Monday so far; I need to start planning a 4pm posting to keep up with everyone… Here I go…

nellie, glad the found the scammers, I hope your sister isn’t charged for the loss (i do not know the law in that area). Happy dog-sitting.

Pilot, been through one earthquake in my life that I was aware of, that is plenty for me. Hope the reunion with GF goes even better than expected. Hope the

doggio, I dearly love those Strange Planet comics, thanks for sharing.

Very well-played, sir!

And you too my dear.

Shoe, lovely story on the turkeys and driver (with squirrel! interlude).

FCM, glad you can get down to some serious yarnin’ now. And an Irish Wolfhound!?!?! I’ve found them to be pretty mellow dogs, but does FCD have any idea how honking BIG they are? And hope the landscaping project goes well.

katie, you and doggio can compare notes all season on the Ice Escapades.

Flyboy, the back of my hands finally look clear to me, so it’s time for me to do some new damages to them…

But not double-secret, I would hope.

Knots, good news on the eye test.

Coppertone, a free meal is always nice.

VanGo, glad the puppeh does not have 20/20 vision in his intestines.

red, enjoy the new phone. I still have the original one, I think it’s coming up on it’s fourth or fifth birthday which I think is old age for them but it still goes what I need it for so no massive need to upgrade.

JtC, hope computer will start behaving itself, I’ve had mine since 2022 and so far no problems (at least none I can remember).

And that hopefully catches me up. Yays, Hugs and general positive vibes to everyone and time for me to relax with a few games of Spider Solitare. Catch y’all tomorrow.

As long as it works and talks to the rest of your tech, keep it. People waste a lot of money on the latest and greatest whiz-bang phones.

This. I replace mine when I break it, or the battery goes.
