"Family Guy - The Quest For Stuff" game

I could have written that, I was SOOOO close to getting the clown thing. I think I was two horns away from it, and I was playing constantly. Like, I’d get in my car, load it up, clear clowns, get cotton candy. Get where I was going, get cotton candy, clear clowns. Shop at the store, load it up, Cotton candy, clowns, leave it up so that when I got to my car , I could get more cotton candy, check for clowns, send Chris on one hour mission etc etc etc. Got everything but two horns.

Not sure why. But I think my playing has a lot to do with the fact that this app is incredibly stable compared to TSTO. It rarely if ever crashes on me.

I am now on level 28 (which appears to mean nothing), and I have just collected Connie D’amico, and I have to gather a few things to release Trish Takanawa, however it looks very bleak that I will ever see her.

I am currently in a major log-jam of trying to gather all of these stupid outfits. Which wouldn’t suck, except each thing. I need to collect is “rare”, “super rare” or “epic”. I have been trying for days to collect one eyeball, for instance, and to do that I have to either have Peter do a 12 hour dance, or the Doctor has to do an 8 hour task (i think). Whatever, I can’t get one eyeball.

Lois has two outfits I need to finish, but the items to complete them are impossible to get.

I also need to finish Anime Peter, but this one seems impossible. Without it, Trish remains locked.
I am growing weary of tapping… period.

Mine crashes 1/3 times I go to Ollie’s Town. But otherwise runs ok. I’ve been trying for ages to get my last karate headband for Rambo lois and it won’t drop. I’m still angry about not getting enough clowns for clown peter.

I’m growing weary of tapping too.

Forgot to add.

One interesting glitch in my town… I was told to put up four chain link fence sections for a quest, and those fence sections show up on the screen as two gears. A small gear and a larger gear, right next to each other represents each chain link fence section.

I have no idea what this means.

There are a few things about the FG game that i like over TSTO, and one of them is that you don’t have to visit every day to keep your “days in a row” string going. I don’t even know why I cared about this thing on TSTO, as I have not received anything of value since I landed a Lemon tree 6 months ago. My last mystery box contained “a tree”. The box before that? $250. Wow, stop the presses? $250 will make me log in 5 days in a row!

I am really not sure why I am playing this tapping game, but part of me is curious to see what it does when all the characters are on the board, all the land is cleared, and all the costumes are in the costume store.

Oh, and I didn’t realize the Peter Clown outfit was not something that folks didn’t get. I got the Pee Pants outfit, but I have no idea why. I never thought I’d get it because clowns weren’t generating fast enough in my town, so I didn’t try. But on the last day, it didn’t stop giving me clowns or counting the removal of them (or the things collected when Chris hit them with a pie) until far into the next day. Without that extra time, I would have never got the outfit. I am not sure if I just lucked out, and missed an update, or what happened.

But, don’t worry. For those that missed the outfit, you aren’t missing much. Yes, there are some different tasks, but who cares?

I’ve been locked out for a few days by a “Load Error.” Tried reinstalling, to no avail. I’ve emailed TinyCo but have not heard back.

My fences show up as gears too.

In an hour I’ll have Midlife Crisis Lois unlocked. As soon as she’s ready, I can unlock S&M Lois and (5 seconds) and Anime Peter (5 Seconds) but you can only do one at a time. Midlife Crisis Lois takes 20 hours. After Anime Peter is unlocked he has to fight Trisha and then she’ll be unlocked, but I have no idea how long that fight takes.

I have given up getting these three outfits.

I have sent the doctor on so many 6 hour tasks to get that bloodshot eye, and haven’t been able to get one. That’s all the doctor has done in my game for over a week.

Same with the Peter Anime - he needs that Lois headband, and I can’t get one of those from Lois doing her martial arts every 2 hours.

I can’t get Trish because I can’t get Anime Peter. I wouldn’t care about the skins for the characters, but you need them to get real characters.

Why am I even playing this game? I don’t even enjoy it. I thought. I’d play until I uncovered Stewie, but I don’t think I will make it.

…what a dreadful game.

I’ve been playing from the start, but I’m tapping for the sake of tapping. The pirates have been in my city for what seems like an eternity: but to complete the path to get me to deal with them will take me forever. I don’t play every three hours. I login maybe once, maybe twice a day. A four hour task with a 1 in six chance of offering up what I need to turn Peter into a pirate won’t be restarted 6 times a day, it will be restarted once a day for a week. So it might take a month to turn Peter into a pirate. Maybe longer.

The game is fundamentally broken and not very much fun. I didn’t start the Simpsons Game until well after it was established, so I think I’ll tune back into Family Guy after a year to see if they’ve worked out all the “kinks” by then.

I get the eyeball frequently enough, but that headband is crazy elusive. There’s a building that generates it too, so I am building that so I can just build Rambo Lois and be done with it.

Has anyone connected to any friends through facebook yet?

What.“level” is everyone one? I am on level 29.

I also have noticed that Bonnie is at the maximum level. I think she made it to level 15 before the word MAX showed up on her progress bar.

This game is strange. There are a number of things that I like over TSTO, however, i haven’t found any need to “house farm” like I did with TSTO. And the reason is because the payouts are odd. A common office building is very cheap and gives you $10/hr, while a very expensive office building returns only $3/hr. So I have had no desire to build up my town. Also, unless you have a free worker, you can only build at a certain pace anyway, Since there are no multipliers, there is no reason to add anything that isn’t required to the town, so I haven’t purchased anything like trees, or decorations of any kind. Aside from clearing land, and buying what ever a task requires, i haven’t added anything on my own. And even clearing land is tedious.

Everything is just so laborious. And getting the outfits is fine, but all they do is provide you a way to earn money a different way with the same character. There isn’t any point to it, because i don’t watch the characters do their tasks. I pick one and leave the character to go onto the next one. I don’t sit and watch the task to see how funny or clever it is.

I keep waiting for this thing to make some sense, or to give me a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, but I am not seeing a thing.

Could not connect to server, ugh. For a while now.

…well they have decided to shake things up: by adding what looks like a whole new Indiana Jones style game! The pirates have been walking around for weeks it seems: with no hope of going away soon, at least the addition of the pyramid will give me something else to do.

I got rid of the pirates a while ago.

As for the Indiana Jones thing, I’m really hoping the make all that stuff easy to get. I’m going to be really annoyed if in a week or a month (or whenever I need them by), I’m still putting someone on a task over and over and over trying to get that last epic item.

Everyone is already running around now, the pyramid opens up in a week, I’m hoping to have Indy Peter by then.

…yeah, but to get rid of the pirates that means I’ve got to create Long John Peter, which means I’ve still got to collect obscure items from completely unrelated characters that may or may not drop, which I could do if I just focused on completing this task, but it isn’t something I can be compelled to do. Which is the problem with the game.

Hence, the pirates are still running around. And probably will be, for eternity.

It’s not looking like this event will be easy. To get Cleveland, you need 4,450 moons (3,000 for Cleveland, 1,250 for Adventure Peter and 200 for the museum). And that’s not counting all the innumerable canteens and ropes and stuff. I’ve only collected 500 moons today, so that’s a good 9 or 10 days of grinding ahead.

The event is really long, so I hope I can complete it. I’m still pissed about the clowns (and TSTO Easter), so if I can’t complete it, I’m done with FGQFS. I am liking the event so far.

The item drops for Adventure Peter have been relatively generous so far, but then a ton more stuff is needed for Cleveland, and I can only imagine that it’s going to increase from there on whatever tasks the pyramid requires. I’m intrigued, but I suspect that this event will not yield a lot of satisfaction for a freemium player.

I agree that the items for adventure Peter have been dropping more quickly than I had expected. However, Cleveland is going to be a bear to get. Those blow up giraffes, for example, only drop after a 4 hour task… And they don’t drop often. And you need a ton of them.

I also currently have a Chris storyline going at the same time, and that has been annoying. Makes it hard to put him on the giraffe generating tasks when he is always enjoying private time, or whatever else they have him doing,

Also, what is the countdown above the pyramid for? i can’t seem to connect it to anything.

Forgot to add this.

Has anyone else noticed that buying the pyramid cost 200 moons, and that total is subtracted from the total you have collected? I think this is relevant because when you get the amount of moons needed for Cleveland, that will start that counter over at zero again. I am not sure what you will need moons for after Cleveland, other than the big prizes that keep a running total of your moons, but I thought I’d mention it.

This is not a bad update, however it is difficult to devote this kind of time to a game. In order to collect moons at the levels needed, you have to check the game every hour or two to keep resetting your characters… I can’t do that, so I am going to have trouble meeting the moon goals, unless I figure out a way to increase my moon collecting.
