If the Palestinian terrorist groups really want to live in peace, why do they continue to rearm and plan attacks on the Israelis? Just a tad bit hypocritical, don’t you think?
Note: I have specifically referred to the Palestinian terrorist groups throughout this entire thread, not the Palestinians themselves, and yet you all are saying that I believe the entire Palestinian people are evil child-murderers. That’s completely taking what I said out of context. I know for a fact that the Israeli and Palestinian people want to live in peace together, but as long as the anti-Semetic terrorist groups that linger among the Palestinians continue to terrorize the Israelis, peace will never occur. Face reality, people.

The key issue you are trying to highlight is that there are terrorist organizations within the Palestinian community that don’t appear to be honest partners for peace. They have too much investment in the idea of destroying Israel, and in the case of Arafat and his cronies, have too much political power to lose should there be a lasting peace. It certainly seems that any time it looks like there is a chance for peace, they do something to sabotage it.
I certainly don’t blame Israel for building that wall. In fact, I find it hard to fault them for most of the things they have done (settlements aside). I don’t believe many other countries would have responded with as much restraint as Israel has. For example, here in genteel Canada, when we had a minor terrorist incident that manifested itself mainly as a few small mailbox bombs, our prime minister declared martial law and rolled tanks into the streets. In the U.S., when a bunch of religious flakes who weren’t even threatening anyone stockpiled a few weapons, they were surrounded by tanks and eventually killed. Russia has responded to Chechen rebels by flattening Grozny. And we don’t need to describe how China has responded to dissent, or how all of the Arab countries have dealt with it.
