Favorite Little Debbie snack cake

I’ve loved the Little Debbie selection of snack cakes since I was a wee lad. My love of these snack cakes runs deep. How deep? Well, my favorite episode of Good Mythical Morning is, hands-down, the one where they taste and rate every variety of Little Debbie Snack Cakes (LDSC). My favorite Will Ferrell character is, naturally, Little Debbie. Whenever I have a cheat meal, my first choice for dessert is a LDSC. If I were to sully my supple middle-aged body with a tattoo, it would definitely be of Little Debbie herself with her smiling face and pretty little hat (no, probably not).

But to which LDSC do my loyalties lie? Well, good Midwestern boy that I am, Oatmeal Creme Pies have always been amongst my favorites since I was a knee-high to a scarecrow. The fancy boy in me has a sweet spot for the Fancy Cakes, of course. And traditionalist that I am, I do enjoy a good Zebra Cake from time to time. I still love those three with all my heart and soul, but in the past couple years, my new favorite has switched over to the Peanut Butter Creme Pies. Holy redheaded baker, Batman! These are like two pillowy peanut butter cookies with a schmear of the creamiest peanut butter known to man holding them together. They’re so good, they just have to be healthy!

So my top choice for LDSC has to be the Peanut Butter Creme, followed closely by the Oatmeal Creme, Fancy and Zebra Cakes. Oh, the Pecan Spinwheels with a dab of butter melted on top aren’t bad either.

Where do your LDSC tastes fall? (And if you have 20 minutes, I highly recommend the Good Mythical Morning episode linked to above. It may just entertainingly introduce you to a whole world of new LD treats to enjoy.)

My only exposure to Little Debbie is the Nutty Buddy Wafer bars, which are excellent BTW.

When I was in elementary school, I would skip the last leg of my bus ride so that I could run into the little snack-bar thing that was in the high school and buy Little Debbie Donut Sticks. I would then RUN across town to South Park Elementary to try not to be late. Didn’t always make it, but it was always worth it.

Nowadays, I’d probably stick with the oatmeal creme pie, but after reading your post, I suddenly have an inexplicable desire for a Star Crunch, which I probably haven’t actually eaten since high school…

Maybe swiss rolls.

As a kid I had a methodology where I would peel off and eat the chocolate coating first, then unroll it, then eat it.

Okay, I still do that on the rare occasion that I eat one.

Well. I used to, USED to get an oatmeal cream pie.
But oh no, lil’Debbie, the bitch, added more sugar.

I did the same but with the vastly superior HoHo’s

Oatmeal creme pie, and it isn’t close. The others aren’t worth the caloric intake for me anymore.

I’m quite partial to Little Debbie snacks. My dad and my grandpa both worked for bread/snack cake companies (Tasty Cake and Nickle’s Bakery), and both of them always had a proclivity to have snack cakes around the house. My favorite snack cake of all time is the Nickle’s Banana Flip but that is neither here nor there.

I rotate between buying LD’s Nutty Buddies, Swiss Rolls and Oatmeal Creme Pies. Only the Big Box for me!

I actually don’t buy the two I love the most, because I’ll just eat them the most. Zebra Cakes and Strawberry Shortcake Rolls for me! Don’t ask me to choose, I love them both.

Never tried the PB Pies. I will be trying some now! I also am intrigued by the Jelly Creme Pies from the video, so I’m gonna try those too.

As a reporter I once covered a fatal stabbing in a large Midwestern city that shall remain nameless. The victim had stolen the perpetrator’s Little Debbie snack cake.

I don’t recall what specific cake it was. But the homicide detective assigned to the case solemnly declared that indeed, Little Debbie snack cakes were worth killing for.

Danged if that isn’t the best commercial ever.

How dare you talk like that about our dear Debbie?! It’s Little Debbie. Emphasis on the “-ittle.”

Definitely Swiss rolls.

Same.

Pro tip: It’s easier to eat the distinct parts if the rolls are refrigerated first.

When I was growing up, these weren’t snacks. No, they were for eating when you were waiting to go out to dinner, to “hold you over”. So said my dad. Almost like a health food.

Anyone live near Chattanooga? They’ve got a newly-christened Little Debbie Park in Collegedale, complete with giant Christmas Tree cakes, Cosmic Brownies and other climbable LDSCs. It’s almost like Disney World, but with Little Debbies.

My vote also. YUMMMM!!!

I’m pretty sure you’re not me, but less sure after this post than I was before.

When I was in school, my lunch every day (packed by Mom) was a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a packet of chips, a can of pop, and a Little Debbie.

Cosmic Brownies, followed by Swiss Rolls.

Banana flips, I love those, and out where I live, they were produced by Little Mickey cakes (I think that was the name). Perhaps it was Nickle’s though, I never paid much attention to the company name on products when I was 9.

FUDGE ROUNDS! Followed by the oatmeal dealies.

Most excellent choice.

Also has the advantage that they can be eaten layer by layer.

Unfortunately, the last time I had them, they weren’t as good as I remembered.

And there is the BIG sized nutty buddy bars
and Swiss rolls. I cannot buy at all as I will pig out.
