I still buy them and keep a box at my desk at work and have with my coffee in the mornings.
When I’m deep in depression (it’s been a while), a box of Swiss cake rolls and a quart of whole milk make for a fine dinner.
This poor west coaster wasn’t exposed to LD until I moved to the the SE. Sure, I was happy in my Hostess bubble, but little did I know I was missing out on Peanut Butter Crunch Bars.
The chocolate is waxy, they go stale almost immediately - hell, I think half the time they’re already stale when I open them - they crumble and fall apart after one bite and I absolutely love 'em.
Slightly off subject:
I have drank only 2% milk for better than 50 years (Mother-induced health regimen). The other day, I had a glass of whole milk – IT WAS FANTASTIC!!
What’s the latest Dope on whole milk?
Oatmeal creme pie here. Next is swiss rolls.
Tho I’ve exercised some restraint and had neither of those for over a year now.
It tastes good, and is full of fat and sugar.
When I’m eating healthy, the only dairy I eat is yogurt (gotta get those good gut bacteria).
But when I’m skipping regular food and binging on junk, it fills me up.
And helps the chocolatey goodness of a cake roll go down the gullet.
Nutty Buddy Bars, followed closely by Oatmeal Creme Pie. Neither of which I’ve had in several years.
Due to my lactose intolerance, it’s been quite a while since I’ve had whole milk.
My wife complains because there doesn’t seem to be anyone making gluten-free versions of those. 
My favourites are the Strawberry Shortcake rolls. And I wireally wish they’d bring back the banana rolls they had a few years ago.
How many grams of sugar do these Oatmeal Pies have, eh?

The only thing I find I crave from the LD line is StarCrunch. Those are pretty divine.
Don’t know those. The banana rolls were just like Swiss rolls or Strawberry Shortcake rolls. Only available during the summer one year.
