No. Seriously, you are awful at trolling.
You’re now reduced to trolling me about fictional dishonesty when you’re pretending that a single accusation about a single poster is a series of “accusations” and ignoring that you claimed that calling a single poster out for blatant racism is grounds for an accusation of trolling.
Now, there are some interesting schmucks kicking around here who could use their stupidity being pointed out, but you’re just boring.
Well, actually, since you seem to be unable to restrain yourself from responding with ever-increasing vitriol to every single Lobohan post that mentions you, if he is trolling (and I’m not saying he is, just if), then I’d say he’s actually doing a pretty good job. Awful trolling would be if you just let it slide off and for once in your life didn’t reply with a redundant wall of text, hint hint.
Bulllshit, He’s an asshole. The fact that he gets pitted so many times should prove that (or at least that he’s not a nice guy). The worst part is that he (and other nimrods) think that he gets pitted because people are upset that he is so right all the time.:smack:
Bullshit. You can have your facts lined up and it won’t matter to Finn. He will present likelihoods in favor of his argument into rock solid fact and damn near facts against his argument into conjecture.
Once again the number of pittings argue against that perspective.
Well he does it without actually saying anti-semite so he can later claim “I never called anyone an anti-semite, not me nope, never did it. Can’t quote me anywhere saying that word” But he will imply that there is some reason beyond the merits of your argument why you are criticizing Israel OR he will accuse you of having some sort of agenda.
I ask because this is very much the sentiment that Finn shares whenever I criticize Israel. I only assume that he is implying that I am an anti-semite, is there some other motivation I might have for attacking Israel over their treatment of the Palestinians?
He does this a lot. He takes a couple of your posts and interprets what you REALLY meant to say and puts those words in your mouth because he thnks they will feel comfortable there.
I don’t have to know the entire history of the American Indian to know that we treated them like shit in America; I didn’t know who Nelson Mandela was but I still knew that apartheid was wrong.
We don’t need comprehensive and perfect information to know that the treatment of the Palestinians is bullshit when we see laws that prohibit the Palestinian spouse of an Israeli citizen from becoming an Israeli citizen, something every other spouse of an Israeli citizen may do. When the same law denies Israeli citizenship to the Israel born child of an Israeli citizen and a Palestinian and forces them out of the country when they get old enough, something that they don’t do to any other children of Israeli citizens (or even any other children born in Israel). You may have a superior grasp of the history but I don’t need perfect information to have a valid opinion.
TO be fair, Finn has forced me to educate myself a bit on Israel because the warped prism through which he views the facts makes it impossible to have a discussion without learning some of this shit yourself. There was an episode where he used terms like Mulk, Miri and other terms used under the Ottomans to pretend that the only “real” property interest that counted was mulk so when you count up who owned how much mulk before 1947 the Jew/nonJew ratio look pretty good from a zionist apologist’s perspective. This is how he uses his superior knowledge.
I have seen you argue both sides of the case. From Finn’s perspective, there is no other side of the story.
Well, I’m not speaking for Finn, I’m merely pointing out that most westerners who feel passionately against Israel are embarrassingly ignorant of the conflict and don’t actually care about the Palestinians or their cause.
As to the “motivations” of people who regularly pontificate on the situation despite being grossly ignorant, well, there are lots of different ones. Here are a few off the top my head.
Many are Jews who think that what Israel does reflects on them.
Others are Europeans who have, for obvious reasons, dramatically different attitudes than Americans when it comes to colonialism.
Others tend to see the Palestinians as “non-whites” and the Israelis as “whites”.
Others simply do so because they tend to be knee-jerk leftists who view opposition to Israel as a leftist issue, while other Pat Buchanan style right-wingers have similar responses.
Many just have really superficial impressions of the conflict and like to spout off about it because they think it makes them look “deep” or “cool” or “open-minded” or whatever comparable phrase the kids are using.
And of course some people just really like to sock it to the Jews.
So, you think he doesn’t go after me, because he’s worried about being bitch-slapped by you?
Feel free to think that if you want, but honestly I don’t think anyone else does.
Thank you for illustrating my point. Anyone who doesn’t know who Nelson Mandela is knows nothing about Apartheid South Africa and has no business expressing strong opinions about it.
I’m not sure what you mean by claiming that I was “whooshed”. You made yourself look grossly ignorant about the Middle East by claiming that Saddam Hussein and Yassir Arafat were “radical Islamists”.
That was a moronic statement and anyone who makes such a comment is either bigoted against Middle Eastern Muslims or grossly ignorant about the Middle East.
In your case, I think the issue is deliberate ignorance rather than bigotry.
I have no fucking idea what makes you think this blog Jeffersoncorner is remotely worth reading when it comes to the Arabists.
You’re far better off reading Andrew Killgore and Richard Curtiss if you actually want to know what the Arabists are like.
Also, the Arabists were hardly “purged” during the 70s. If there was a purge, it happened during the 90s.
So then you’re admitting you listed Kissinger(who’s Jewish) and Albright(who’s not) solely because they were of Jewish descent and are also admitting that you think that Jews can’t be “pro-Palestinian”.
Uh-huh.
You clearly have a lot to learn and clearly have some issues to work out.
Hopefully you don’t think I’m hostile to white people because I’m not one.
No, but just as people who know nothing about the NFL shouldn’t try and speculate on who will win the Super Bowl next year, people who are ignorant of the Israel-Palestinian situation shouldn’t offer strong opinions on the conflict.
A good rule of thumb is that one shouldn’t have strong opinions on any subject you’re ignorant on.
Beyond that, offering really strong opinions on the conflict when you know nothing about it is grossly insulting to both the Palestinians and the Israelis.
Perhaps insulting Palestinians doesn’t bother you because they’re a people you have a vague understanding of and who you’ve only seen on TV, but I don’t have that luxury.
I have yet to have that experience despite being very critical of Israel.
This is possibly because you have a brain in your head, Ibn. The problem is, people who don’t, and expect to get by on vitriol and verbiage, get very upset when they are treated differently from people who know what they’re talkin’ bout.
Damuri, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. But you ain’t entitled to your own facts. And you’ve pretty clearly managed to show that you got no idea what’s going on, so most of what you say is either hot air or stupidity. The hot air is the more forgivable part of it. Why don’tcha spend some time reading up on some actual history, philosophy, an’ geopolitics?
Damuri -[ul][li] How do you know all those things about FinnAgain if you have him on Ignore? [/li][li]You complain about his cites, and respond with a Google vomit and a blog. AndTen posts in a row?[/ul][/li]

First, look magic, I only need one post to reply to your rants. Trying using the tools provided by the board so you don’t just look dumb. You’re not new to the board. Learn how to use it.
Second, obviously you only interact with **Finn **in GD & the Pit. If you explored the rest of the board you would find him a friendly, funny, talented poster. If you only deal with people in GD & the Pit and you mostly butt heads with them, you’ll probably not have a good view of them.
