FinnAgain is kind of a shitty person.

Might not be all that crazy. Lot of political figures, but subtle. Huckleberry Hound is the rural, Southern voter. Baba Looey represents Latin America. Snaggletooth is England, of course…

Liberals.

Nah. He started in cartoons and then went on to lead Hamas.

:o

Dammit, you’re adding exponentially to my list of words that are meaningless through repetition! Stoppit!

She’s just trolling. Do not feed.

If you don’t see the humor evident in her posts, I suggest you turn down your “take self seriously”-o-meter from 11 to a more reasonable setting.

Sorry, her trolling is not only not funny, it’s unoriginal. Nothing to do with taking anything seriously to prefer someone not troll.

Trolling doesn’t mean, “Showing FinnAgain that he’s acting like a crazy person.” Update your lexicon.

And this all started when I said:

And then you said:

Emphasis mine.

Would you please explicitly admit that I was correct and you overreacted and attacked me? Isn’t that what an honest person would do?

Why are you so afraid of admitting your mistakes? Is it that you don’t value integrity and are okay with casual dishonesty?

I totally reject this position. I don’t believe in “collective” responsability. You’re only responsible for your own actions.

To say nothing of the problems of basing one’s bigotry on election results. With a nation like the US, that pretty much guarantees that no matter who gets elected, or who turns out to vote, you can find a reason to justify hating Americans who you don’t know and never met.

Who needs a reason?

Shodan

:frowning:

To be fair, many bigots don’t even spend the time to come up with a cosmology. “Gays are bad, I hate gays.” “Polish people are stupid, I hate Poles.” “Americans are horrible, I hate Americans.”

When they go the extra mile and attempt to come up with a rationalization, they at least deserve the effort inherent in pointing out that their specific rationalization is shit.

And MY point is that I don’t need to know the fucking history of ANYTHING to have a valid opinion about Apartheid and how wrong it is. I don’t NEED to know about some guy named Nelson Mandela who was rotting in jail at the time for me to feel that a grave injustice was being endured by the blacks in South Africa.

You seem to want to limit debate participants to those who have your level of knowledge or higher. If I adopted this approach to taxation and fiscal issues, I could lay claim to excluding almost the entire board on these issues. I guess I could wave my LLM in taxation and my econ degree in your face and tell you that you can’t have an opinion on taxation. But what experts on this board do is use their superior knowledge to point out faulty assumption and to fight ignorance, not to beat other people over the head with their superior knowledge and certainly not to shut other people up. We fight ignorance here on this board and and if someone seems ignorant to you you fight that ignorance, you don’t say “go read these books and come back when you are ready to have an informed conversation because just reading wiki articles (and the news) does not qualify you to speak on the topic.” Seriously thats a load of crap.

Yes there are.

Thats a load of crap. I’m not crying into my beer every night because of the plight of the Palestinians, I know enough to have opinions about the situation there. If some of my underlying assumptions are incorrect, then fight my ignorance and I might change my opinion but its almost antithetical to the purpose of this board to try and exclude participants based on the fact that their level of knowledge is inferior to yours.

Can you link this post. I remember there being more to this conversation and my search-fu is weak.

I don’t know, how do Jews view the daughter of a jewish mother? Because I was always under the impression that if the mother is Jewish so are the children but all of that is irrelevant. You claimed that the state department is well known for its bias because of all the arabists in the state department. I was presenting some evidence to the contrary.

If Muslim were a cultural ethnicity in the same was that Jews are a culrtural ethnicity, then perhaps. Are you under the impression that Jewishness is solely a function of religion?

I guess I was asking for the sort of criticisms of Israel you have shown. You don’t even have to cite. Just repeating them here would be enough.

I don’t know where I “proudly” claimed that but saying that you can’t participate ina debate because most of what you know about a subject is from wikipedia and the news is foolish.

I have time to sit down at a computer today so when I do, I multiquote.

I can’t remember but I think Finn has fairly centrist/liberal views on other issues except Israel.

So Damuri is insisting that Madeline Albright, who is a practicing Episcopalian, who was not raised to be Jewish, never considered herself Jewish, and never even found out that her parents were Jews who’d converted to Christianity until she was an adult, is Jewish just because her biological mother’s parents were Jewish.
Hmm… I guess someone thinks that the Nuremberg Laws had a point.

I guess by his standards Barack Obama is a Muslim and George Allen and Wesley Clark are both Jews.

To be fair, Damuri isn’t particularly intelligent.

But at least he isn’t a dishonest piece of shit too cowardly to admit his mistakes like you are. I mean, that’s a point in his favor.

Lobohan, I gotta be honest–you’re not coming off as the winner here. In point of fact, you’re kinda…monomaniacal. Think about the other people posting in this thread and how you WANT to appear compared to them on that scale.

You read that post and THATS your takeaway?

Are you a sock for Finn Again?
