Firefox / Open New Thread

How do I get “Open New Thread” to be the top choice when I #2 click on a link?

Move your mouse over the New Thread icon.

Right-click.

Select “Open Link In New Tab.”

Or, if you have a mouse with a scrollwheel, use that (i.e. - click the scroll wheel instead of the left mouse button).

If you don’t, Ctrl-click.

I totally messed this thread up. I wrote it one. Firefox wanted to restart after updating and I lost the window with the write-up.

What I meant was:

When #2 click in Firefox on a link I get the menu:
Hyperwords

Now, how do I get the “Open in New Tab” to the top of the list?

Perhaps you could define “#2 click” as I have no idea what that is. (Do you mean double-click or right-click or what?)

Are you asking how to edit the right-click menu in Firefox? Changing the order of things (or removing some entries) would be good. Anyone?

Googling “edit right-click menu firefox” got me here:

Menu Editor Firefox add-on

Just clicking on a link with the mouse scrolling wheel should open the link in a new tab. That should be the default Firefox action, and in fact it was the reason I first tried Firefox. I assume your mouse has that wheel and you haven’t already assigned the scroll wheel click to some other function. There are lots of ways and add-ons to customize the mouse click actions.

Wow. Gotta love Firefox. All this stuff you didn’t know you couldn’t live without until somebody comes up with it and makes it available.

I’m so glad you said that. I was actually reading this thread to find out what that meant.

#1 is first (index) finger; #2 is second (middle) finger.

Lefties don’t have to translate.

I’m a lefty, but mouse with my right hand like most everyone else. :stuck_out_tongue:
