Knitters can make other things – like bags, iPod or cell phone cases, little dolls, etc. – if you wouldn’t want a lightweight decorative scarf. People will be able to email their craftees to get ideas, let them pick colors, etc.
Or I could just assign you to someone other than a knitter. It’s becoming clear the assignments are going to be a wee bit tricky. ;)s
bump for the weekday crowd
I’m in.
I cross stitch. Not usually cutesy cross stitch (but I will, if that’s what you want). Right now I’m working on this fractal for TheKid. I also hardanger, but I’m not fabulous at it. I have done many a baby / wedding announcements and samplers.
Whoever I get, we can figure out what s/he likes and go from there. I would end up sending the finished project not framed or ‘display ready’ - I would rather leave that to the giftee to decide how they want to use it.
I’m in. I crochet, and have just metric tons of colors/yarn for you to choose from. I can do hats and scarves with ltitle flowers and things on them, and am good at creating new stuff. Not very good at following patterns. . . LOL!
I’m just about done with the little poncho/capelet I’m making for Celtling, I’ll post a pic when the second arm is finished. . .
I’m in.
I mostly knit - but I bead a little, crochet a little, embroider, cross stitch, and do some paper crafts - but mostly knit.
I’m in!
I knit and sew.
I knit and sew goofy stuff, mostly (monster hats, sock monkeys, etc). I currently have 9 previous requests for items in front of me so it means that while my person will certainly get something, it might be a month or two before I get to it; however, I will make to order.
You need to send me an email. See the address in the OP.

Now!
Nah, actually, haven’t set one. I think it will probably be pretty clear when we’ve gotten everyone we’re gonna get – and then when we get some stragglers after that, we can match them to each other.
To be clear, that’s “crocheted stuffed animals” and also fabric “rag” rugs which are made via crochet (I hate calling them rag rugs because the way I make them they don’t look raggy). Plus miscellaneous crochet, like scarves, hats, etc.
Ah, good, thanks for the clarification. I’ll fix that when I update the list.

Another knitter here. Scarves, mittens, shawls, stuffed animals, bags, hats.
I’m also starting to get into making cards and stationery using washi tape, so if you don’t mind that I’m still working on my skills, I could send you hand-decorated notepaper, or picture frames, or little glass jars.
Im in too!
I do paper cuttings , maps, and pencil shadings.
Here are some samples:
Whoa. I would never in a million years have the patience to do that koi – that is gorgeous!
I’m in. I’ll send the email. But in the meantime, I knit, do some sewing, and I have been doing some small baskets (yarn wrapping).
Knitting: Scarf, hat, or maybe a baby something if that’s of any interest
Sewing: Set of placemats or table runner, or another similar small project
Baskets: I’ll try to get pictures posted.
I’m in. I’m sort of crafter of many trades and master of none.
I can knit and crochet, but since there are lots of folks here that do that and can likely do a better job than I would, I think that I will go with either pottery or pysanky.
I’m up.
I do papercrafting. No pics online at the moment, but I do things like baby books (personalized ones where all that the new parents have to do is put in the pics and maybe a little journaling), scrapbook albums (here again, my craftee could give me personalization cues) and design/make greeting card and stationary sets (here’s a chance to get your Chriskwanzasolstickah cards:p).
This sounds like fun!
