I used Smoke on the Water and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto to test the impedance of my preamp and power amplifiers when I was a kid.
Really annoyed Mama Plant.
Up caffinating and mildly Blurfy, tis hawt here in Houston outside therm is already at 80f/27c. I am off soon to continue the shop project that should have been done in the winter or at least what passes for winter here.
The shop has a small apartment on the second floor and we have decided to make the air conditioned space a bit larger. I installed and ran juice to a 28k btu A/C unit and built a couple of <snerk> stud walls (Swampy is paying attention now). Today we shall build four more and frame and hang an exterior door while the lackeys install insulation. Then off to work with the hippies til about 3am, whew busy day.
Chatted with the “cute redhead” some more last night. She found out what I have been doing and guess who has a honey do list :smack:, one date and this already. I am in trouble, her house has electrical issues, needs a gate for a dog run(she has 5, count em’ 5 pit bulls) etc. This is just what I know about as I have not even seen the house yet. I bet her car needs a brake job, any takers for a fiver?
Sorry to blather on all about me so hugs, love, aaaw cute, happy feet and Sri Lankan spiders wielding pointy sticks as needed
Projected high 92 today. Ugh (especially since our car does not have working AC at this point).
Today’s events: DH goes over to former employer to turn in access badge and pick up paycheck. I need to do some organizing in a storage closet. Also need to figure out what we’re taking to a potluck tomorrow (his former co-workers), and replacing the shower curtains would be nice. In one bathroom, it’s torn loose from one ring. In the other, the cat has demolished it (she loves to pounce at me through it while I’m seated in that bathroom, and there’s a reason one of her unofficial names is Princess Razorfang Scissorpaws).
Might even make it to the library today to pick up hold items, and DH needs to file his UI claim. Would have helped if he’d slept at any point last night.
Back from grocerying, $50-ish poorer. **FCD **needs a crown, dammit. He had them put in a pseudo-temporary one so we don’t have to lay out $1300 right now. Looks like we’ll be going back to work…
I’ve made a cuke-onion salad and boiled a dozen eggs. The dishwasher is washing, I’m in grubbies and about to go to the basement and work. Still gloriously in the 60s, and the house is open. So far, a mostly good Firday.
One time, there was a storm (microburst) at my grandparents’ place in Ontario, when my family was visiting. My grandparents ended up with a boat in their yard! (It was the neighbours’ boat.)
I knew it was only a matter of time. What I didn’t know was just which Mumper straight guy would be the first to say it.
I irk for a bit then I mess around for a bit then I irk for a bit then I mess around for a bit, rinse, lather, repeat. I really, really don’t wanna be here. Also, I have decided dindin shall be pizza cause I can’t be bothered to like make anything.
Rosie I didn’t quite catch that. What did you say again?
N.O.L. is et and I have someone comin’ in to see me at one p.m. After that, who knows what will happen. I may leave early. Or not. It’s all willy-nilly, up in the air, chaos as to what might happen.
Check out the beeyooteefull cedar, (first 2 pics) all coated with Thompson’s water seal (which is pretty much mineral oil.) It really brought out the color and grain in the darker wood. We’re leaving it to dry overnight, and tomorrow, I’ll flip it over and do the bottom side of each piece. Then on Sunday, we’ll start assembly. The inverted T-shaped beams are the hand rails for 3 sections of the deck. Benches will fill the other 2 sections, and the end nearest the house will have planters along the edge, so no railing.
We discussed some neato-torpedo decorative details that we’ll add if we have enough scraps left over. This is gonna be one classy clothes dryer!
It is indeed a beeyooteefull pile of wood there MOOOOOOM!
I have decided if the phone rings at irk one more time this afternoon I am goin’ to throw it in the parkin’ lot and then run over it. Ok, I probably won’t actually do that but a bear can dream.
Was just getting ready to leave for store when mortgage broker called. I got to fill out the application over the phone which is nice because their application is a PDF which is read only, I printed it out and it looked like hell and trying to fill in all tiny spaces was a bitch.
So that is done. Had to fax something and ran to Office Depot for that. Went to the bank. Finally picked up the diploma. It looks nice. Went to the store and forgot dog treats - Poor Sah-dog, but we stopped at Ginos on the way home so he got french fries.
I will never ever ever get the Amiche PowerHouse again It was so thick I could barely bite into it. I didn’t know they come with THREE hamburgers on them. If I had known before I bit into it I could have pulled one off and put it on Sah-sons burger, but he won’t eat anything if I bit into it.
Funny how little kids think nothing of stealing your food or drink when they are little, then they get a little older and all of a sudden you have cooties.
My room is a mess, I’ve got paper work strewn everywhere.
Got to get moving and have more paperwork to copy and email.
I thought today was going to be a lazy day. HA!
FCM, doing it right takes awhile, eh? I 'member making Adirondacks for family members as gifts and it seemingly took forever but they were durn near perfect and near weatherproofed for years when completed, well worth the effort.
sahirrnee, when we re-fi’d a couple of weeks ago she actually came to our house to do the paperwork. So much easier and I hope that’s an option for you too.
