He was just an all-around fundamentalist. Doing anything differently than him wasn’t just a difference, but sinfully wrong. That’s not uncommon on here, or the Internet generally, but he took it to an extreme. The most absurd example I can think of is that he insisted that the S in Louisville must be pronounced because the letter S is always pronounced and goddamn all those illiterates who disagree.

Incorrect. Everybody who knows how the English language works pronounces it “Louis-ville.”

An “s” in the middle of a name is always, always, ALWAYS pronounced, regardless of how many faux-educated people think differently.

Except Louisville was name for King Louis XVI of France, so French pronunciation rules apply.
