Crockpot roast is almost done. Furnace has, in fact, kicked on. A hot meal is gonna taste good tonight.
And I’m gonna knit till I can’t focus my eyes. MWAH!!!
But first - how good does thissound??

yawn Had to go to a continueing ed class this morning about the new changes to the new rules for real estate appraisals (I am not an appraiser), and then heard about some changes to states rules and regs of interest to real estate brokers. (I AM a RE broker.) Mighty risable stuff. At least the presenters were kind enough not to call me on nodding off in class.
Have to go pick up #3GrandDaughter from school in 45 minutes or I’d assume the nap position.
Hugs, gropes, wet salmon, etc.
Ugh!
Crappity crap crap with boogersnots and whipped cream on top.
I had a consult visit with a neurosurgeon today. I’m looking at having a C5-C6 ACDF+P in early December. That’s an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion with Plating. A long-ass way of saying “putting bolts into my neck.”
I’m not terribly surprised. He wants me to have one more epidural injection first, just in the off chance that the steroids will make the bone spurs go away or make the crushed disk plump and juicy again. :dubious: It’s really more for the insurance - they’ll want to see the progression of imaging, physical therapy and minimally-invasive treatment before they’ll willingly foot the bill. Especially since I’m about $800 away from hitting my annual out-of-pocket maximum. So, there is a bright spot.
And now, a moment of awww…
Blatant Plug: Watch the Best in Women’s Barbershop!
**gotti **- that’s the first procedure **FCD **had, and the first of the metal fused to his spine. If I remember correctly, the worst part of his recovery was that his throat really hurt him for a few days, and it seemed to take forever for his doc to get his pain meds figured out. Good thing about it, if you care about such things - he doesn’t have a visible scar from it - not like the frankenscars when they went in from the back.
Good luck. I’m sure it’ll go fine.
Supper was good. Knitting to commence shortly. I see ice cream in my future as the evening progresses.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww squeeeee!
Work has been worked. Urgh. Talked to a couple of people I know who offered me jobs that I am seriously considering. When I was a recruiter I told everyone before I hired them that you need to enjoy what you do as soon as you don’t it is time to do something else. It is time to do something else.
Supper will be something…mr ems gets back on Sunday night. yay!
gotti you have my sympathy. So much so, I’m not gonna suggest we start calling you Frankenstein. If you have to have the procedure, may your recovery be swift & painless.
Moooooom that crock-pot roast sounds yummy as all get-out. I’ve been thinking about getting a crock-pot so don’t be surprised if I start hitting you up for recipies.
Well today I had the last of the steak left-over from the amazing supper my girlfriend’s mom made on Sunday. Alas, the apple pie seemed off, so I made do with cinnamon sugar toast for dessert which went nice with apple cider.
The girlfriend is planning Saturday’s lasagnia like Ike planned D-Day. You can’t help but feel all warm & fuzzy inside when someone puts so much thought into something for you.
Tomorrow’s Friday! The weekend is so close I can almost taste it!

wetone I do indeed leave the skin on the chikin when I slow cook it. I think it makes the chikin more moist and juicy that way. Plus it helps make some drippin’s which I needed to make gravy. Dindin was teh yum btw! Like Sunday dinner at grandma’s!
gotti what I’m tellin’ myself is right after that pic was made, puppeh peed on the carpet. I have to believe that, elsewise I sucumb to the major keeeeyoootness and start wantin’ one. Hope things turn out ok re the surgery. It’s sump’n I hope I never have to go through.
MOOOOOOM that does sound num! I may give it a go soon. Of course, I’ll use fresh N.O.T. cause I can chop ‘em up myself and also, I have homemade chikin broth to use. I have not taken to makin’ my own cheese, bacon and flour however.
swampy, I was thinking I should use fresh N.O.T. also - I really hate cooking with “convenience” foods, if you recall my declaration that cream-of-anything-soup is teh evul!!! In fact, I was thinking I might make it for tomorrow.
And now I’s officially tahred, so I’m gonna pop a melatonin and hit the sack. With luck, I’ll sleep thru the night. <fingers crossed>
don’t know if it’s 'shopped or not, but this is the best Hallowe’en decorations ever!
Forgot to congratulate elf on the job. I blame Ashes. Yay!
Soup sounds yum.
Very cute puppy, gotti.
My nephew is 13 today. How did that happen?
We named tinyninjachef quite successfully, I thought. I’m sure he’ll never be teased about that. I’m sure we could do ever so much better with girls.
:: pulls smiley bits out of ear:: ewwwwwwww.
Off to see what else I need to do tonight.
Hugs.

Tahrd. Sleepy. Beddybye time.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Congrats elf! I’m jealous…
I wish I knew why I keep almost falling asleep around seven, then waking up enough to make it till bedtime. It’s annoying.
So I hung out with my “just friend” for about six hours yesterday. I worked all day today, but that means i can take the whole weekend off.
You did a Packers comic? I you.
.
Is a pretend boyfriend anything like a “just friend:)”?
the dog does own a fez.

Sorry if I missed everybody else. Between work and non-dates, I’m exhausted.
Me no comprende, señora… He must have some sort of text editor, no? Any of them can save to .doc or .docx
Sometimes the docs saved from another editor look funky, but so long as you don’t have strange tables-inside-tables, pictures in your headers or something like that, it’s fine. My personal opinion is that any doc which can’t be saved properly by OpenOffice has too much Stuff; I’ve seen corporate formats which looked like whomever created them hadn’t added glittery lettering because she didn’t know how.
Ugh, gotti. May recovery be fast and relatively painless.
Good morning all! It’s Friday! Yay!
I just finished off a breakfast of scrambled eggs and a bratwurst. I’m waiting on my Pop-Tart to cool off. Once that’s chowed, it’s off to irk.
Happy T.G.I.F.!
Bri2k
P.S. Congrats elf on the new job!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 39 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 71. Oh my! Will there be an ice berg in the pool???!!!
Rosie forgot to comment yestiddy, but the chorus is f-aaaaaa-bu-lous!
Ok, that’s all I got. Need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Rah.
Happy Firday Y’all!
I my melatonin very much. It wound me down and drowsied me up so that I was asleep before 10, and I didn’t wake till idiot dog was barking around 5:15. So yay! And I awoke rested, so there’s that, too!
It’s quite chilly out there this morning, and when it’s light and somewhat warmer, I’m going to hook the sucker/mulcher to the mower and attack the first wave of leaves. I’ve also got to tend to the kitchen - I kinda just piled dinner dishes and such into the sink and left them last night. I’ll probably regret that greatly when I go in there.
Otherwise, just another day in Paradise! Happy Firday, all!
Up, caffeinated, and
T.G.I.F.*
*I normally don’t say that, but hockey, the weekend off, and seeing my “just friend” means I mean it.
Dang - quiet Firday here…
I’ve reserved a rental car for our trek to Florida over Christmas. We’re getting a full-size something from Hertz. Having made the trip in both my Scion and my daughter’s Fiesta, we’ve decided we want comfort over fuel economy. So we’ll pick it up on Christmas Eve and return it on New Year’s Eve. I’ve still got to get some answers from Geico about the insurance - I don’t want to pay an extra $150 for the week for whatever coverage they push on you if we’re already covered. And chances are, nothing will happen, but you never know, and that’s the point of insurance, right? Anyway, we’re good to go.
I am dressed, but I’m not ready to go outside and freeze!!! OK, I exaggerate a bit. It’s above freezing. Bit I still don’t want to go out there. Maybe I’ll assume the knit position for a bit. Or do chores. <------ look, I made a funny!!!
I suppose I could load the dishwasher…
