Every week I find myself hoping that I’ll somehow magically start enjoying my classes again. I seriously doubt it’s going to happen this week, especially since I already had a moment of total apathy this morning. In my Group Theory course, we were allowed to submit corrections to our most recent quiz, on which nearly everyone had performed quite poorly. I went up to the professor after class to turn in my thing, which I had written on a sheet of notebook paper. She made a fuss about how we were supposed to print out another copy of the quiz and write the corrections there, to which I responded “Well, I can’t time travel, so why don’t you take this instead?”
A few moments later, as other people handed theirs in, she looked over at me and said something like “It seems you were the only person who didn’t understand the directions.” As I left the room, I chirped “I’ll be sure to add that to the list of things I don’t give a fuck about.” I don’t think she heard me, but that would have been fun if she had.
On a more positive note, I set a personal record for myself this weekend! On Saturday I practiced guitar for 10 hours, shattering my previous record of 9.
Culinary Boy and I just got back from hiking Graveyard Fields a little while ago. The colors are peaking like mad around here. They’re actually past the peak and brown up past Mt. Pisgah. It was a very lovely drive and pleasant hike. Something smelled like dog doo up there, though. I think it was the boggy parts. There are plans to go back up there next summer during blueberry season on account of all the blueberry bushes up there.
Now we’re waiting for the pizza to bake and for Culinary Boy to get a callback from the job he applied to last week. crosses fingers
That’s one of the top options, yes We’re watching them too see how they act for a few days before picking names, to make sure of getting a name that fits. Yes, we do take this far too seriously, why do you ask?
I’ll attempt pics tomorrow- we only just got them back, and they’re all snuggled up in a furry heap of cute at the moment, so I don’t want to disturb them.

Couldn’t get comfy in bed again last night so I slept on the couch, which means I was only half asleep but at least I was comfy. I went back to the bed after Sweetie got up because the bed was nice and cold and I could spread out. Ended up sleeping for another 6 hours. Oops.
Had funky dreams last night. Some chick sold me these pills that were supposed to make my dogs sweet and docile and not psychopaths like they are now. So, I gave them to my girls (for some reason the Terrible Iggy Dammit wasn’t in the dream) and instead of turning sweet and docile, they turned into blood-thirsty maniacs with glowing red eyes. We had antidote pills but they only lasted for half an hour.
Second dream was even stranger. My neighbor was supposed to giving me a ride home from the riding school (which is just around the corner and doesn’t require a ride to get back from and why was I there in the first place? And why was she? She hates the owner of the riding school!). Anyway, we were in this big wooden, handmade vehicle. She drove off the side of a hill and we ended up airborne. When we landed, there was a huge flood and the entire world was under water but people didn’t seem to be having any trouble breathing, except us so we stayed in the car.
It’s that time of year again. There’s wood on the wood rack and the dogs are gnawing on it. Sigh.
I am supposed to be doing homework but I’m suffering from the just don’t cares, even though I do. Ugh. I finished history and gov’t already so I just need to do nutrition and drugs but I think I left my ambition in dreamworld.
Hmmmm. Nickname for Lancia: Well, Lancia was/is a high end Eye-talian car company. It was bought out in the 60s by Fiat. Fiat mean (in english) an arbitrary decree or pronouncement, therefore, your nick is whatever we arbitrarily say it is.
I am plumber today (hear me whimper). Yesterday morning everything came to a halt, drain-wise, so I spent the day futilely snakeing various clean-outs trying to clear things up. No go.
So today I’m doing what I always do, digging a hole in the yard where the two 4" pipes come together. That’s always where the clog is. At least this time I took pictures so I can find it with the first hole next time. I have the removable piece of ABS out of the line and I’m eating leftover pizza waiting for the water to drain down a bit so I can see what I’m doing, but I think I’m going to dig the hole a little deeper to give the water somewhere to go and just get on with it. I have an important soccer game to go to in 3 hours.
Howdy Y’all! Home from irk. Rah. Tonight is men’s night at the church house so in a bit I will head out. Steaks are marinated and beer chilled. MMMMM… I wil go collect the old gent who lives one road over and meet OYKW over to the church house. Can’t wait cause Ima gettin’ hongry!
Been on a steady diet of this stuff over here for the past week or so. You know the world has gone crazy when the news keeps being more interesting than anything else on TV or book or internet… With all the misgivings, what is done is done, and now all our fingers are crossed for nothing to go wrong at the last minute.
I concur with Bumba - Lancia == Fiat
Mice shouldn’t be Slartibartfast – they should be Frankie and Benjy!
I was mildly chastised today at PT. I did way to much this weekend and my knee is sore and swollen. I have been instructed to stay off my feet and rest no more vacuuming or mopping and keep it iced. I have to remember I am still healing even if I feel stronger.
I will do as I am told no matter how bored/frustrated/sick of sitting in the recliner with my feet up I am as I don’t want to mess this up. Le sigh.
Supper tonight is baked sweet potato and squash and goats cheese quiche that I made yesterday and some salad. No real standing involved.
Heh. Didn’t even think to check if anyone else had started an MMP. Do we have a part in the FAQ where we talk about the possibility of two MMPs being started at once?
Well…it looks like the verbs were cleaned up before dinner; that’s a good sign.
That’s an awfully fishy mystery you’ve got going there, FCM.
Yay for the sale, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Sorry for your troubles, SCL.
I forgot to mention that it was great to meet kopek and that her Ladyship is clearly Mumper material.
Made it through my first day back at work. Am now embarking on editing pics. Fun times!
Yay for short sale mmmmmms! I know it’ll be a relief to have it over and done with.
Special1 I’ve sorta kinda followed that young man’s story. Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed that it all works out.
Home from steak night. 'Twas a good time as always.
I do, however, have a minor amount of grrrr. Right now the Southern Ag Expo is happenin’ over in large and in charge Moultrie, Jawja about 40 miles away. TPTB have decided that that would be an excellent venue to tout Medicare. At an agricultural expo. Yep. Just what people who go to an ag expo are lookin’ for. Thus, yours truly and a cohort will need to be on the road at six a.m. tomorrow to head over, set up, see if laptops will work (we have been assured by the expo folk that wireless is available. I believe that like I believe in oceanfront property in Arizona.) and other fun stuff. So, tomorrow I shall waste a day of irk. I mean, instead of like bein’ where I could actually help folks needin’ help, I’ll be twiddlin’ my thumbs. Oh well, on the off chance wireless does work, I can keep y’all entertained with doin’s from an ag expo.
Now I need to go beddy bye. Nitey Nite Y’all!
Oh, and if’n I don’t post tomorrow everybody knows why.
