FNG's MMP

Happy BrickDay!!!

The same that jewelry has to do with home shows and boat shows… it’s a venue where* just maybe* someone might be interested. So don’t be a poop about it - take a break and watch the pig races! :stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome back, A[sup]2[/sup]! Did you bring me chocolate love offerings??

I dragged myself out of bed about an hour ago after a discombobulated and disturbing dream involving a plane crash, my van (former van) losing its roof, a neighbor wanting to borrow my scrapbooking supplies (I’ve never scrapbooked in my life!!), a visit by my inlaws, and us owning a Corgi. And no, I wasn’t drinking last night. Anyway, I showered, dressed, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the cat box, and just finished breakfast. Not bad for an hour!

I need to throw something new at class today, and I’m not sure what to make. I was thinking a “fishbowl” - throwing a big pot in the shape of a goldfish bowl, then putting cutouts of fish on the outside. Cute or dumb?? Or I could just do an altered thrown piece - start out with something round on the wheel, then manipulate it to a square or an oval or something random… Decisions, decisions.

In other news, I think we lost another cromis - last night we could only find 5 of them. I’m getting worried - do we have a blight in our tank?? All the water quality tests that we can do come out really close to perfect. It’s weird.

No idea what I’ll do after class today. Maybe hook up the mulcher and start on the leaves. The weekend was really windy and there’s no sense in waiting till it’s knee deep out there.

I’m glad there are lots of Spanish experts here - my 3 years of high school Spanish are so far in the past, I can barely construct a complete thought without a dictionary. So sad - I used to talk it real good.

Happy Tuesday!

Mooooooom is that fins up or just gone? If just gone, I would worry that you have a uninvited resident in da tank…

Well, lo and behold! We has intratoobz at the ag fair! I knew y’all would be worried.

We had the uninvited resident before everything died post-hurricane (48 hours sans power is not good for fish.) This time, we started with a pristine tank and we’ve added things gradually. We have no idea what happened to the flame angel - no trace of it remains visible, so I’m guessing the crabs ate it. Yesterday I spotted the first dead cromis, and when we disassembled that end of the tank to remove it, we found the remains of the dead anemone in the same niche. So far, we haven’t seen the second dead cromis.

Nothing in the tank is a predator - we learned that lesson last go-round. So if it’s not a coincidence, we’re totally perplexed. And we’re going to quit adding to the population for a while, just to see what’s going on.

Our former unwanted resident was a mantis shrimp - them little bastards are teh evul!!!

Well, time to head to class. Laterz…

:grumble: 5am comes too damn early…

Ok. So.

(yo) soy - I am
(tu) eres - you are (familiar)
(usted) es - you are (formal)
(él, ella,) es - he/she is
(nosotros/as) somos- we are
(vosotros/as) sois - you are (fam. plural)
(ustedes) son - you are (formal, plural)
(ellos/as) son - they are.

(el/la) el/ella - es
(los/las) ellos/ellas - son

Jesus. I’m not going to get this. Lessee… days of the week. Lunes, Martes, Miércoles, Jueves, Viernes, Sábdo y Domingo. Ok. I can count to 30. I think.

Pronombres de sujeto.
Nosotros/as - we
Ustedes - used to address a group of people not inc. the speaker
Yo - I

So ‘tú y yo’ (you and I) needs ‘nosotros’ (you and I are…)

Ok…

Nombres y apellidos. I know the difference. This will be important, I’m sure.

Fechas: the date. Will need to remember that one.

This test is worth ~10% of final grade. Not the end of the world if I bomb, but goddamnit, I’m not going to settle for less than a ‘B’ in any class. I started back in school for the first time in almost eight years last spring, and took a 200 level technical writing class. I got an ‘A’ in the class, much to my surprise. I won’t be able to look my family in the eye if I don’t do good on this test.

I have to make lunch, something I can eat while driving. The geniuses at the county decided to tear up the road leading to the college; since there is only one access road to the entire campus, it creates a huge traffic snarl. I have half an hour to get from work to school, and I will need every minute of that half hour.

Sábado. I’m sure you know it, but slow down…

The formal second person simply acts like the third person, dunnow why your teachers are listing them separate.

Ok, we have talked to a few folks and laminated some Medicare cards. I suppose that’s a good thing. There’s younguns everywhere! Go to school ya whippersnappers! Dang delinquents and reprobates! Or maybe it’s just school field trips.

Also, the booth just to the right is playin’ country/gospel music. There was a song about what I assume is a country/gospel alien. The words I made out were “this world is not my home I’m just passing through.”

I am enjoying my last afternoon of government-sponsored freedom. Back to irk tomorrow but it should be very nice because I’m going back to the building I moved to work in 3yrs ago and the office girls have all said how excited they are that I’m coming back. Might that have something to do with the home-made cupcakes I test on them?

I did get a lovely text from one of them saying how good it would be to have me back home!

So now I have just phoned the jobcentre and signed on for my unemployment claim, and signed off in the same day.

Swampy, every time I see you post “ag fair”, I see “aig fair” in my head.

BooFae I’m sure there’s some aigs around here somewheres.

I just et me a sausage and peppers sammich. I may regret this. However, it was gooooooood!!!

It’s hyooooooomid out! Rain is eminent.

blurf
yes I just woke up

toepic will appear after a generous amount of caffeine has been injested

Happy Birthday, Brik!

Just a drive by…

I have a mental block on the days and it’s all my Spanish 1 professor’s fault. I only have class 1 day a week, 3 hours each time. Spanish 1 was on Thursday. Spanish 2 is on Tuesday. All last spring, every class would start with, hoy es jueves, el xxxx de xxxxx. Now, every single friggen week, my Spanish 2 professor does a quick oral review of things like seasons, days, numbers, etc. He ALWAYS calls on me for the current day of the week and every single friggen week I say jueves, even though I know it isn’t right.

I’ve been back in college full time since last fall. Since then, I’ve finished nearly 20 classes. I’ve received an A for a final grade in every single one…except Spanish. That damn A- is going to haunt me til the day I die (or until the day I get my frist B+ :D)

[QUOTE=Nava;14369254

Congo and Bert, if you wanna practice your written Spanish, my mail is in my profile.[/QUOTE]

Thanks Nava. I keep that in mind.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRICK!!!

Didn’t fall asleep until after 3 and had to get up at 9. So tired. Then had to drive to RI and back because Sweetie has a game to shoot tonight in Providence so I have to pick him up after the game instead of him picking me up after school. He wont be done until about 2 hours after my class ends. Took the Terrible Iggy Dammit for the ride and he barked at every single police officer we passed.

Back to studying for the quiz.

My professor is a stickler for making us do every form, including vosotros. He makes a point of telling us that it’ll probably never come up but that we have to learn it anyway. My last professor told us not to bother worrying about it.

Back from class, and pleased to see the 6th cromis swimming about - he/she must have been hiding last night. I stopped on the way home at WalMart to get a few items. I needed kitteh litter, but they were out of my brand, so I got a bag of cat toys instead. I’m sure there’s logic to that somewhere.

I helped empty one of the kilns today, and I brought home the pieces that will become my bobble head. **FCD **and I will figure out how to make and install the bobble mechanism, and I may go ahead and do the underglazing with my own glazes, just because. I was also pleased to see that the saucer that goes under the new planter I threw didn’t warp. I’ll be decorating it on Thurs, I think.

Today I threw a vase that I altered - it looks like it has 3 spouts on it - I think it’ll be pretty when it’s glazed. I also made a big jug with a face that sports a handlebar mustache. I need it to dry a bit so I can prettyfy it a bit. So it was a productive day.

I’m having leftover chickie noodle soup for lunch, and I need to decide what we’ll have for supper.

Oh, and I think **fiat **is too logical a nickname. I think my convoluted logic leading to **Woody **is much more in keeping with the spirit of the MMP. In fact, as I was driving, I got to thinking that **rosie **needs to become rivets. Surely someone can figure that out. And **swampy **needs to become Dick Durock. After all, what’s the point of a nickname that’s easy to figure out?

Never mind - I’ll just finish my soup quietly.

Happy birthday!

No special coding, I am tired and enormous.
Gnat’s watching The Muppets behind me, because it’s important to traumatize and mess kids up early, and Muppets are a good way to do it. I should make pizza dough and tidy and make a grocery list.

Tomorrow we find out if it’s boys or girls. Think GIRLS, everyone.

Girlie thoughts coming your way, LiLi!! And should it not work out that way, I suggest you start planning where you’re going to run away to, because 5 against 1 is just unfair…

MOOOOOOM has given me a porn name!

That’s not a porn name, you perv! :stuck_out_tongue:

and the other way around it’s a sitcom.

Please do NOT call me rivets. :stuck_out_tongue:
GIRLS!

Happy Birthday Brick!

Rivets I get, but not the other one. Besides, most of the nicknames aren’t that difficult.

Actually I may have [del]seen[/del] heard of that very name on a porno. <insert angel smiley face>
