Food Network Star winner: "Big Daddy's House"

I don’t understand why Aaron McCargo, Jr., who won the season 4 Food Network Star competition, didn’t become a big star. His show, Big Daddy’s House, is still on, though relegated to some early morning slot.

I record him on my DVR and love to watch him. He’s as personable and high-energy as Guy Fieri, and on top of that, he’s sexy, which Guy is not. Guy (and I do like the guy and watch him) is a cartoon caricature of himself. Aaron McCargo is a real, earthy, loving, personable, competent chef who knows his way around a kitchen. His recipes are realistic and easy to make. He’s also a husband and father and often has his kids or brother in the kitchen with him. My favorite is when he has his friends over for some kind of game day party–talk about a house full of man candy.

I know most of the FNStar winners have faded way… at least he’s still on at all. I think he’s yummy.

Meh. Never clicked with me. The one who really needs to step into the limelight is Melissa D’Arabian, but she won’t because of some silly “family comes first” bullshit. :stuck_out_tongue:

You’re a guy, right? Of course he never clicked with you.

There’s your answer - you just eliminated 1/2 the viewing audience.

If the Food network had promoted him as intensely as they did Guy Fieri, he’d be as big as Guy, because he has all the passion, skill, and personality PLUS sex appeal, which Guy is lacking.
