One thing I do is to switch the ring to my right hand from my left-can’t stand rings except on left ring finger so that is a reminder that always works. Been known to do the watch trick too. It’s subtle enough that it can be done in a meeting, more so than me whipping out my phone to leave myself a note. Flipping over my chair in a meeting would work, but is so less subtle. Have, however, been in lots of meetings where I wanted to flip over my chair but not to remind myself to do something. But that’s another story…
My memory trick: I take insulin 4X a day, each morning I take out 4 pen needles, and the used ones go in a separate pile–I can keep track of what dose I’m on.
Hey, it works for me…
You should speak with your Physician, or a Person of the Cloth.
This came out FANTASTIC! I highly recommend it.
By law (“ThelmaLaw”) I cannot make any recipe exactly as the directions say.* So I threw in some frozen carrot slices and I had a red bell pepper on hand, chopped that up and threw it in, too. There’s plenty for tomorrow and probably the next day, too.
I served it over some white rice. I don’t eat rice very often, but when I do, I make a pot of it my rice cooker. (Wedding present of 30 years ago. Thank you, Aunt Ann!) I flatten the cooked rice into a slab and slide it into a gallon zip-lock. When I want some, I lay the bag of frozen rice on the counter and attack it with the handle of my heavy-duty kitchen shears. I then microwave the broken-off chunk into edibility.
* The downside of this is that if something comes out spectacularly good, I can almost never recreate it.
I set alarms on my phone to remind me of stuff - in fact, I need to set one for take-the-critters-to-the-vet tomorrow.
Speaking of critters, MissOwl - when I brought Ziva home, I don’t think we kept her separated from Taz for even 24 hours. They established their truce, and now they’re buds. I think yours should be fine figuring each other out.
Bats - glad the chicken teriyaki worked out for you. It’s one of my go-to recipes, tho I usually use breasts, because I like them better. FWIW, teriyaki is also good for pork chops. I’ve also tried it on beef, but I didn’t like it as much.
We’ve got a guy coming later in the week to give us an estimate for painting, etc. I was going to paint by myself, but since I’ll be wrangling Roxy most of the time, it would probably take 2 or 3 months for me to finish all the painting and repairs. This way, we can probably get it done in a week or so. And the main reason I thought this was a good choice: FCD just got another project that’ll pay him over $10K this month. It’s relatively easy, and the program manager asked for him specifically, so yay!
Now I need to decide on colors. Plus I need to do some serious cleaning - some of the baseboards are kinda gross, what with being out of sight and all that. But I figure that’s no more than a day or two, apart from moving furniture. I need to find a good scrub brush. Glad we’re replacing the carpet - I don’t have to be too neat.
We (he, actually) tried turning off the speakers, and used headphones instead, and still had the problem. So we don’t think that’s the problem. Thanks for the hint.
My sister started early, and then her girls started early, so I’m a g’gunkle. (Unfortunately, she didn’t live to see any of her g’grandchildren, of which there are now 14 or 15. )
flyboy and nut, you need to put a backslash right before the asterisks.
*ugh* and more *ugh*.
it’s hot and I slept til 12:00 tho I dont remember when I fell asleep last night cause I passed out playing the new well remade hm/SOS : friends of mineral town game … I didn’t have my bed stuff down so’s I slept on the floor and I’m all sore now … not much going on other than my aunt found someone to chat with on Facebook so shes in a good mood …

I was going to make beef and broccoli, but I had to broccoli, so I made beef and green onion.
If you do try that recipe, use fresh broccoli, which can stand up to the final two minute of pressure cooking. Frozen broccoli will disintegrate. Or, if you use frozen, Dump it in at the end and don’t bring up to pressure again, just stir around until it’s cooked/thawed.
Do not broccoli! Never go full broccoli!
For those following along with the Kitty Chronicles – I laid down to take a nap this afternoon, all alone in the room. When I woke up, Phoenix was asleep in her usual spot right beside me on the bed and Twister [stealth name reveal!] was napping on top of the cedar chest under the open window (we had a glorious breeze), approximately 4 feet from Phoenix. Twister opened her eyes and intently watched me skritch Phoenix under her chin, while Phoenix showed all of the proper signs of kitty bliss. They both then followed me downstairs, where they’re now in separate rooms, I think.
Oooh new paint and carpet, have fun redecorating! My unsolicited wall color choice is pewter gray, not really though I do like it. but boy am I seeing it everywhere on interiors and exteriors on the local mls. And those Edison bulb light fixtures too, I’m not a fan.
I put freshbroccoli in the skillet with the cooked beef, cover it and count to ten.
That works!
I think when I eat the next dose of it, I’m going to toss in some pineapple tidbits.
We’re leaning towards a pale gray with a hint of blue. We had a similar color in our house in Florida and we really liked it. I think the 2 guest bedrooms will be light blue, and I’m not sure what we’ll do in the master - in our last house, we had a beautiful garnet, but that bedroom was lots bigger. And under the chair rail, we’ll probably have a slightly darker gray in the same family. White trim. White ceilings.
Unless we change our minds…
Supper was big ol’ salads. Frozen yogurt later. Chillage now. Daughter and SIL have gone to fetch their spawn.
I’ll bet that you put sugar in cornbread.
despite opinions saying otherwise nuttin wrong with puttin a lil sugar in cornbread and nuttin wrong with cornbread without … it’s all subjective to taste:)
