For Swiddles and Houseman. . . This fest's for you!

I’m up for the concert! Count me in if you manage to get here (fingers crossed).

-The Wonkonian.

Alright, I’m definately coming down there this weekend, arriving in the city sometime around 6ish, having an early dinner with my godfather (probably) and heading to the concert around 7:00. Yea, Wonk! Now I have a native guide. Anyone else care to join the Swiddles-and-Guster-Take-Manhattan concert?

Soulsling, Saxface, Pink Slinky, Ukulele Ike; anyone else showing up?

I’m in for Guster… what are the plans?

Pink Slinky and Co. will be on vacation. We leave Sunday morning, so hanging out Saturday would not be a good idea. When I come back from vacation I expect to see a concert report and some movement on the September get together.

I’m almost afraid to leave. I was out two days and we almost ended up in Hoboken. When I come back I’ll probably be looking at the Newark-Camden Dopefest of 2000.

Don’t worry Pink, we’ll try not to end up having it in Florida.

 Awright! I’ve had it with you, and your anti-Jersey propaganda! Enough is enough! If you want to “discuss” this further, meet me behind the Meadowlands at 9 pm.

Alright, a plan. Hmmm…the show is at the Summerstage, 72nd and Park, methinks. According to their website, the concert starts at 5:30 or something ridiculous, but I’m thinking that’s when the doors open, as it also says that Guster doesn’t go on until 8:45ish. So I’m thinking 7:00 is a good bet, enough time to catch the tail end of the opening act, and stake a claim to a decent spot in which to view the band. I don’t know any easily accessable meeting places in the area. Natives? And we can do the whole cell number exchange in case something comes up. (ie: major roadwork on I87, etc.) I’ll be on time, I swear.

And advance warning, I’m a bit nutty about this band. Try to ignore my giddiness. Teehee! See? I can’t control it.

And Pinky, as God is my witness, I’ll champion your cause. Partly out of loyalty, and partly because using the subway within MANHATTAN was a major feat for this bumpkin. As God is my witness, my people will not be Festing in Newark!

I just got an email from the drummer, which encourages buying tickets early, as “we’ve been told they are aren’t many left.” But it’s friggen Ticketmaster, so I don’t know. I’ll probably pre-order, just to make sure I get in, as I will only worry otherwise. The number is 212-307-7171.

I hate, hate, hate Ticketmaster.

Grean Bean, nice plan to get Pink into Jersey… good one!

Swiddles, I’ll most likely already be in the park at the time anyway (5pm or so). I need to get tickets I suppose first today then. My cell will be on and available. All those who wish to meet in the park email me for my cell number (E Block, Cell 3… hehe, jk), and we can have the pre-dope fest Guster fest.

Being automobile impaired makes it New Jersey a difficult proposition. That and I’m very lazy. And you gotta admit Greenie, Camden sucks.
P.S. Where’s Bildo?

$30 for Summer Stage? sheeesh…

Yea, have I mentioned that I hate Ticketmaster with a passion? An $8.75 Handling/Convience fee on a $22 ticket? Give me a break. I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Ticketmaster.

And yet they get my $8.75. Where’s Eddie Vedder when you need him?

Would Eddie have helped? I could give him a call you know…

Yea, that would be grand. “Um, yea. Ticketmaster? This is Eddie Vedder.” ::dial tone:: “Dude, they hung up. Again.”

To their credit, they did have a GusterTicketing option for a while, but then they ran out of tickets. Feh. It was designed as an anti-Ticketmaster manuever, but the venue just didn’t let them control all the tickets. Feh.

I say we gather a large army, stampede the ticket collectors, and make our way into the general admission “seating” area and then…

oh, my order was confirmed… oh well, it’s paid for…
never mind. see ya at the show…

We do have some decent public transit here, ya know! And I’ve never been to Camden. Admittedly, that is because I am scared to go anywhere near the place…oh never mind!

Bill has quit his job, grown a beard, and become obsessed with whitewater kayaking. He claims that he still lurks, but I dunno.

I might join you for the concert. I have actually never been to a concert in the park! Maybe I can convince Billdo to come, too.

Hey buddies, so so sorry, I have plans for the weekend. But have a good time!

For the record, Soulsling, I was making fun of Williamsburg way back there, and Green Bean et al, I don’t have a problem with New Jersey, just Hoboken. Weekhawken and Jersery City have gold stars in my book.

Noted, I was making fun of both myself, having lived in Jersey a good third of my life, I think I can.
We’ll miss you, have fun.

Ok, make that, we’ll miss me too, I can’t make it. Something just came up. sorry kids. Will have to see you all on dope fest. Guster will have to play without me…
