Frasier Denied an Emmy cause he's a Republican

The season opener picked up from last season very nicely. Grammer is playing a real dick in this series, and is consistently assholish. Nice boob shot from one of the other actors.

If it’s something that’s earned…a degree, a championship, a rank…then legally and ethically, it must be awarded regardless of any political considerations. If it’s something that’s given, no one is entitled to it.

The Academy can deny an Emmy to whoever they want for whatever reason they want. It’s their damn award, and it makes perfect sense not to give it to someone they have serious reservations about or who will cause embarrassment to the industry.

Yes, this leaves the door open to snubs, but what other option do we have? I mean, the whole point of annual awards is kinda arbitrary to begin with (there will always be strong years and weak years). You just gotta do the best you can, and if the ones who decide whether or not you get honored don’t like firebreathing right-wingers, then don’t make it too obvious that you’re a firebreathing right-winger.

QFT, his acting is extremely powerful and should put to rest any thought that he’s a one role actor (ala Frasier). The show is complex and the many characters are multifaceted and well defined.

And yes, as Chefguy said, some of them have very nice boobs!

Oh No!!

thank God.

There’s also the issue of relative merit. The actors who were nominated are Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), and Damian Lewis (Homeland). All of these actors gave fine performances.

The Academy may have just felt that Grammer has already won five awards and they wanted to recognize some other performances.
