Free Krispy Kreme with Vaccination card

Start buying up stock in companies that produce insulin?

That would be great…if my nearest KK wasn’t a hundred miles away.

Or if I could ever get a vaccination. Been trying for weeks now. :frowning:

Sweet!

My friend got her COVID vaccine last week because her diabetes pushed her up the list. She posted this on FB.

Mine’s about 15 miles away, a 30 minute drive according to Google, but that still too far to drive just for a free doughnut.

Yeah, the one closest to me is actually too far to drive for a free donut. But, if I’m over in that part of town, I sometimes swing by there. If I ever use my (future) card for that, my guess is it will be only once in 2021.

They’re also offering a free donut and coffee to everybody on Mondays. https://www.krispykreme.com/promos/vaccineoffer

If you have made the personal decision to not receive the COVID vaccine, please visit us on Mondays, 3/29/21 – 5/24/21, to receive a free Original Glazed® doughnut and a medium brewed coffee to get your week off to a good start.

Even if they delivered, I’d pass. I don’t understand the appeal.

Hmm, there’s one just 14 minutes away from me. I could see myself taking advantage of this offer once or twice, whenever I pass through that area. But it seems like an easy way for them to lose money, if millions of people take them up on this, and each person theoretically can get up to 284 free donuts this year.

Sure, not everyone’s gonna game it to the max, but I still think Krispy Kreme could end up giving out ~100 million donuts in total.

As far as getting a fresh, hot one, just made…I get it. But if you can get those from a local shop they’re pretty much the same IMO.

They will play both sides, then.

They were giving away donuts for Talk Like A Pirate Day but not any more.

Whether or not you like Krispy Kreme isn’t the point. The point is they’re doing their part to get people to get vaccinated. Yes, they added the sop to the anti-vaxxers, but those idiots are too hysterical to notice, so I doubt that part matters.

I don’t live near a Krispy Kreme store, and if they’re not freshly made, I’m not wild about them, but I applaud them for this promotion. If they benefit (and I’m sure that’s part of the reason for the promotion), good for them.

I texted the CNN link to my wife (we’ve both gotten our Fauci ouchie) and said, "We can get a free doughnut every day!

She texted back, “Or get multiple free doughnuts by hitting several stores.”

This is why I married her.

US only: boo hiss. There is one about 3 miles from me and I drove past it yesterday. Well, I need them like a hole in the head.

I’ve identified about 8 Krispy Kreme donut shops within a 50-mile radius of where I live. I plan on making the rounds to at least 4 of these every day for the rest of the year just to get my daily fix of free donuts.

For the longest time they weren’t available around here. Then, one day I saw them at a Sheetz, so I bought one. Way too sweet for me.

They are definitely a super-sweet doughnut, but they’re also really yeasty, and a hot fresh glazed is an incomparable treat.

I have my filled-out vaccine card, and there’s a KK a half mile from my house. Might go there this afternoon.

I think they’re the best glazed donuts around - KK must change their frying oil constantly, as there’s never a fried oil taste. There’s also not a lot of artificial vanillin or other off-flavors added. Glazed are too sweet for me (not that it stops me), but they’re still my favorite donut brand if I had to pick a company. I’m a bavarian cream gal, myself (but I have to scrape off the chocolate frosting).

There’s also a chance it will make profits surge. People are eager to get out of the house. Some people will emerge from the pandemic with a new set of habits: new favorite restaurants, new driving patterns, new spending priorities. Getting new and old customers back into the purchase lines is what ever restaurant wants.

As you say, not everyone will game the system — and some people will use the free donut to justify buying a high-profit coffee beverage. Or donuts for the office. And it gets their name in the news.

I’m mildly disappointed that KK is giving donuts to dissenters. I think the less credibility that dissenters get the better.

I’m not much of a donut person and there are no KKs in this area of the country but when I lived in Seattle I went there frequently. I really liked their glazed cake donuts even though they are calorie bombs.
