Freezing Snickers, Twinkies Etc...

Am I the only one who has heard of this? It seem everyone I talk to never heard of this and thinks it is crazy.

I don’t really eat candy now but when I was young we always froze the snickes, hostess cupcakes, twinkies and ate them frozen.

I am from Chicago…Has anyone else done or heard of this?

Candy bars I could see, but “cake” style snacks? Aren’t they supposed to be soft?

I’ve heard of it, but I sure wouldn’t practice it. I dislike chewing hard chocolate from the fridge, let alone the freezer. I’m not sure it’s all that common in my region, anyway.

Done it, done it many times. My favorite snack to freeze is Hostess Zingers.

My favorite thing ever is frozen Snickers. I know only one other person who does that; most people think I’m talking about Snickers Ice Cream bars.

Mm, frozen Snickers.

I’ve never tried frozen cakes, but I love frozen candy bars, and most of all, frozen peppermint patties. I love a fresh peppermint patty from the freezer, with a glass of milk… oooh.

Frozen Milky ways.

Mmm. Gosh, now you’ve got me thinking about getting some.

I’ve heard of it, but have never done it.

The cakes really don’t freeze as well as the cream filling. So it is an interesting experience eating a cupcake or twinkie. The cake is soft but the cream freezes hard.

My mother did the ‘frozen cake’ thing when I was growing up. Supposedly kept it moist and fresh longer, but I didn’t think so. Made them taste slightly stale and bland to me.

As far as candy bars go, I’ve never put one in the freezer, but love them cold just out of the ice box.

Mmmmm. Thank I’ll go have a Skor bar now.

Why would you freeze candy bars? It’s not like they’re going to spoil.

Much better taste for some. Frozen Caramilk is really good, but the best is Reese Peanut Butter Cups. Mmmm!!!

Oh, man, I haven’t had a frozen peanut butter cup in years! Curse you, Lockz, for reminding me how good they are! Now I’ll have to go buy a couple to freeze…

I like to freeze Milky Ways and Three Musketeers. Other candy bars taste better un-frozen.

I like M&Ms frozen. I’ve not tried any other candy that way. Since my wife likes M&Ms room temperature, I sneak them into the fridge at least, so I can have a few the way I like 'em.

The best is to freeze chocolate (if you live in a hot climate like Australia) because it comes out hard and your body temperature does more melting, which is part of the yummy chocolate goodness. Also, chocolate goes off if it’s too hot (like 46°C!) and it melts and goes sticky. My mate from Canada says that they like chocolate to be warm… but Canada’s cold so…

mmmmm…

frozen snickers.

We used to freeze them and smash them with hammers and eat all the little bits of frozen nougat and caramel…

I hate you.

Frozen hostess apple pies

Crunchy goodness. Yummy.

Upstate NY gets cold too.

I had a frozen Snickers candy bar just last night! My all-time bestest favorite is frozen Zero candy bars. I’m from Kansas - maybe it’s a regional thing.

Never froze a snacky cake but frozen Snickers are divine.
