Throw the Mars bars and Baby Ruths in the freezer too!
The original frozen candy is Charleston Chew. They suggested on the wrapper that freezing was the thing to do.
Reeses peanut butter cups are infinitely better if eaten frozen. It seems to take the sickliness away somewhat.
Cherry Ripes are also nice frozen.
When chocolate is frozen, you can scrape it with your teeth, then chew it up into little bitty pieces. Then as it’s starting to melt, take a swig of milk and it all solidifies into a glob. I love doing that. Wish I had some Hershey’s Hugs right now.
They’re also good in ice cream.
I’ve mentioned this before but I like frozen Junior Mints. They’re like little bits of chocolate mint ice cream.
I’ve been known to eat a whole bag of frozen snickers (fun size) in a day! I also love frozen friut. When I was a kid we had a chest freezer in our bedroom for a short time due to space problems. I remember my parents coming in and finding all of the frozen fruit missing. It came in handy for a midnight snack.
Frozen Keebler Deluxe Graham Cookies (the ones that are covered with Chocolate) and Grasshopper Cookies (Mint Cookies covered with Chocolate). YUMMY Goodness.
Frozen Candy Bars are good also.
My dad always used to freeze caramel Twix. Haven’t had one of those in about 15 years.
I do refridgerate such candies as Reeses Peanut Butter cups, Kit-Kats, plain M&M (not peanut - too hard otherwise), and so on, but never Freeze. Not sure I want to even try…
Almost all Little Debbie snack cakes (food of the goods) take better refridgerated (especially Zebra Cakes - glorious!)
Frozen Snickers are my favorite too! YUMMY. I think we had frozen Hostess cakes when we were younger, but I haven’t thought about doing that in a while. All Snickers go in the freezer though. Mmmm…so good.
I used to work at a gas station and we had these candy bar holders on the inside of the cooler doors just for those who like theirs cold. It was nice.
I’ve seen some of my co-workers putting chocolate bars in the freezer at work.
They also experimented with melting Campino candies in the microwave and freezing the melted goo. Dunno what the results were.
I personally hate frozen candy bars – too hard to bite and chew, and so cold that their flavor is muted at best. I totally don’t see the point.
That said, however, drive-thrus around here often advertise on the windows of their coolers that they have frozen candy bars – so you can get a frozen Snickers to go with your twelve-pack, yummy, I guess. (Whatever happened to beef jerky and Doritos?) I guess it must sell well, or there wouldn’t be so many of them doing it. I think it has only recently become common in such a commercial setting, but I have known of people doing it at home forever.
Now, melted chocolate in the microwave, that’s a different story. Semi-sweet chocolate chips right out of the bag make a simple but luscious melted treat.
Anyone ever have a fried Snickers bar?
My grandad always used to give us frozen mars bars when i was younger, they were good for getting rid of my wobbly teeth.
What exactly happens to an apple when you freeze it? Isnt it quite difficult to eat?
My nana always did it and I picked it from her. Tastes yummy!
Frozen Twinkies dunked in milk. That’s a guilty pleasure.
Wha? You say my red-neck roots are showing?
Frozen Butterscotch Krimpets or Kandy Kakes. Great at room temperature, better frozen.
Like Kyann said, all the convenience stores around here put a few candy bars on a little shelf on the cooler doors during the summer, just for people who like 'em cold. It seems pretty traditional; I think you just have weird friends, Markxxx.
I’ve never heard of frozen snack-cakes, though…although I myself do like 'em cold from the fridge. I like cold cookies, cakes, etc…but not frozen.
And I hate frozen/cold candy bars. They’re just a tease b/c they’re too hard to eat.
When I was a kid, I once froze a British Mars Bar (I think that’s a Milky Way in Yankland) and then licked it about a third of the way down like an ice cream.
My tongue went red and swelled up for a week.
I freeze (or refrigerate) Mounds bars. They are too soft at room temperature.
Frozen soft cookies are excellent too. They aren’t icy solid, just dense.
