Fringe 3/18

I think it’s just the fact that it got moved to Friday nights, which is usually like a nursing home for TV shows.

Actually, it was fun to see that Deadwood actress on Caprica.

Paula Malcomson has a much more extensive filmography that I thought.

Hey, a kindred spirit! In my house we just call them Earth-1 people and Earth-2 people. On this episode, we met Earth-1 Lincoln. I like your idea as well, but it only works for fans who really pay attention - the Red and Blue classification system may confuse casual viewers.

a question or two, fellow Fringe-fans - Is it implied on the show there are only two universes? Did Walter deliberately try to kidnap alt-Peter or did he go over there to save him and took him by mistake? When did alt-Peter begin to accept Walter as his father & this universe as his home?
and am I the only one bothered by the impolications that Walter’s act caused all the problems in the alternate universe. I just don’t think so. I think there are other reasons but Walternate blames our Walter out of his traumatic loss of his son.

They haven’t really addressed whether or not there is more than one universe in general. But it’s clear we’ve only seen two so far.

Walter had to bring Peter back with him in order to give him the treatment that the other Walter hadn’t discovered due to being accidently distracted at a crucial research moment by an observer. After Peter got better, Walter had to figure out how to bring him back some other way, because the doorway device was too damaging. He tried using cortexiphan on kids, and young Olivia managed to cross over to the other universe, but Walter decided that using her in this manner would be cruel, and so gave up and just kept Peter.

I think Walter did cause the problems in the other universes (and more recently in ours), by using the dangerous doorway device.

I’ve seen almost every episode since Day One, and I don’t know which universe is Red and which one is Blue. Therefore, I must regrettably label that scheme a fail.

Do you know which is Earth-1, and which is Earth-2?

Red and Blue is based off the opening titles.

Regular universe episodes get the blue titles, alt-universe episodes get the red titles.

Blue is the main universe with the blue opening credits, Red is the alternate universe with the red opening credits.

edit:whoops should’ve read further in the thread, already answered

As for more than the two universes, I recall the producers saying in interviews there are more universes but the show is only going to deal with these two.

Here you go. From Fringepedia.

I occasionally go to Fringe Spoilers and they sometimes have interviews with the creators of the show, and they say that viewership is just fine and they’re not worried at all.

Yup - the first one is Earth 1 and the second one is Earth 2.

When the color of the title screen is blue, it’s our universe. If it’s red, it’s the alternate.

If Walter is the head of Massive Dynamic and is helping out the Fringe division, it’s out universe. If Walter is the Secretary of Defense, it’s the alternate.

If Astrid is working in a rinkidink lab with a cow in it, it’s our universe. If Astrid is in a command type center and she’s autistic, it’s the alternate.

See, I think that is the easier classification system. I know which is Red and which is Blue, but when I read that it sometimes takes a second to remember which is which… Earth-1 and Earth-2 are easier for me.

Of course, then there’s the two ‘retro/flashback’ opening credit sequences…

It’s still Blue. Maybe closer to a gray-green color but certainly not red.

i thought exactly the same thing. i’m not a physics whiz by any means, but i thought suicide guy took up all the velocity, leaving more than enough chance for her to surivive the fall with or without her magnetism.

Actually, besides him being a cushion, I wondered how much damage he could have taken seeing as how a car roof has some give in it.

Except that the positive interview with the creator was from a month ago, and they’re now worried about cancellation again as of this week because of a significant drop in ratings since that interview :frowning:

Yikes. Well, I’m a loyal fan. But I’m not a Nielsen member so my viewing habits have no impact on the show.
