Yeah. I just lost the best cat in the entire world in August of 2000-my Fluffy-she too was sixteen and had been with me since I was six years old.
Tess is only three months old. She’s so sweet, and she just looks up at you like she thinks you’re a god. The vet when she was born wanted to have her put to sleep-because of her leg-but the woman insisted she’d find her a home. She beat SO many odds-the runt, being crippled, etc etc…only for this to happen.

Sorry if I sounded callous. I didn’t mean to be. I’m not an emotional person as it is, and it can be hard to express emotion online. What I was trying to say is that, since you only had the cat for a few months, you didn’t have time to have all the positive experiences with her that you would have if you had owned her for several years, for example, and so it might be a little easier to deal with your loss. I do sympathize though. My dog died a few years ago, when she was 6, of pancreatic cancer, and I felt bad about that, especially seeing her get worse and worse and knowing there was nothing I could do. It’s something, I think, the way you can get attached to animals like that.
I had thought that when an pet died, they encouraged you to get another one as soon as possible, so that you could forget about the loss. I might have that backwards, though. At any rate, my apologies for sounding callous, and I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I suppose, if you wanted, you could look at it this way. When she was born, the vet wanted to put her to sleep, but because of her mother’s owner’s insistance that she would find her someone who would take her, and your willingness to take her, the two of you together gave her 3 months of life she otherwise wouldn’t have had, so you were able to give her that at least.
I hate to hear that. It’s not fair, I know.
I’ve never had a pet, so I can’t pretend to understand the hurt, but I feel for you anyway.

Since God made us, and made us capable of feeling love, even for animals, and feeling grief when they died, and made anger a normal part of the grieving process, I cannot believe that He would mind someone directing their anger at him. I choose to believe that there is a reason for that phase of anger. I choose to believe that He would understand, and allow himself to be the target for that person’s anger, so that that person could grieve naturally.
For if one believes in God, one has to believe that He understands us far better than we can understand each other and loves us far better than we can love each other.
And if you, in your sanctimonious pseudo-piety choose to judge what God has wrought in the form of this person’s actions, you can stick your keyboard up your ass so far that you’re typing with your appendix.
