Well, the memorial service was Monday afternoon in Castle Rock, just south of Denver. Cathartic, yet emotionally exhausting day. I am continually amazed at the strength of this family. After the service, they hugged every one of the several hundred people who waited in line to talk with them.

People have been checking in at least once a day, but still trying to walk that thin line between giving them the space they need, and being available for anything that comes up.

Still processing my own thoughts. Dealing with the sorrow for the family, and my anger toward the son, who put everyone through this. If I happen to be wrong, and there is an afterlife, I’m going to make it my job to kick this kid right in the fork for a few thousand years.
