Gaining on Gratitude, an MMP for Dave

Was the little old lady walking a dog???

Maybe what he was trying to say is an legitimate rape may produce an illegitimate child.

Hell if I know.
I just had too much of that helping them across the street when I was a Cub Scout.

There were two of them, they bring the dog to do his or her business in our yard or the neighbor’s, depending upon the state of canine bowels.

Oops, you just lost your high school diploma!

Vacation time is now time! :d

flytrap, are you saying that to prevent the little old lady’s dog from crapping on your lawn, you reverted to your Cub Scout training & would assist her across the street…so her dog could crap on your neighbor’s lawn? :dubious:

You are an evil genius!

Boy, am I in trouble with this doggy! You know the pics where the puppy did something bad and has that ‘o no, i was bad; you still love me right?’ look? Yeah, Mouse has that ALL THE TIME. :stuck_out_tongue: And he’s such a dork. He’s trying to play with the big cat, and big cat is lying splayed out upside down watching the dog with a look of “WTF is wrong with this dude?” look on his face. :stuck_out_tongue:

Weather-Hot and muggy, still. Will be humid for a couple more weeks, it seems like; after that, hope the humidity AND temps drop off a little. We could use the break, along with everyone else.

Food-Munching on pork from the other night.

Chores-Laundry, as usual, with some extra due to the doggio. I put some dishtowels on one end of his crate, hoping that if he HAD to do his duty, or doody :p, he’d have a place to put it, so to speak. And it seems to be working. I can handle extra laundry right now a lot better than checking every 2 hours <overnight> to see if he has to go, so…we’ll see how it works out. I am taking him out at LEAST once an hour or so during the day, and for longer times at night, just to give him time to relax. But of course he just goes out and plays, lol. Which is fine. I need to get treats to give him when he pees out there; I praise him and pet him and all that already, but I do that all the time anyway, so…yeah. Probably not going to get the hint THAT way.

Verified that my mail STILL is going to my old address. :dubious: This is not good. Luckily, the post office agrees and is going to yell at the mailman or somewhat.

Right now the most important thing is my unemployment paperwork, but I realized today that THAT won’t matter much after a few more weeks, as apparantly 6 months is the end of it, and…yep. Two more unemployment checks, and then I’m cut off, wheee! This is panic-inducing, but last month we took care of Moving Expenses, Dog and Vet services and supplies, Sunk a ton of money into the POS Cruiser, And…and, those were all kinda huge. We’re still behind on some things, but basically I could have lost unemployment at a WORSE time, is what I’m saying. Now to unpack all my work paperwork and get down to business!

But later. There’s a doggy wants his belly scratched.

I wish I were Evile enough to say I did do that.
:frowning:

But are you evil enough to do that NEXT time? Then you wouldn’t have to be so evil as to actually lie about doing it!

swampy, we’ll be way north of the potential hurricane - Bermuda, Boston, and Newport. Bermuda has a 30% chance of rain while we’re there - that’s about it.

Inlaws arrived safely and on time. We just finished a nummy supper of poke, Amish corn, cabbage, and N.O.T. and onions. Watermelon later.

Off to visit and veg. MWAH!!

Howdy Y’all! I made jambalaya for dindin and it was one of my better efforts even if’n I do say so myself. I took some to my neighbor and church friend who lives on the next road over from da cave. You would’ve thought I had brought gold he was so excited. His wife is gettin’ rehab at a nursin’ home so he’s been eatin’ out a lot. Good news on that end is it looks like she’ll get to come home on Firday. So yay for that.

I think Evile Little Old Ladies would be a good band name.

ETA: Yay for vacation spaz!

I have been mildly grrrr all day - my garage door no longer opens electronically, and I haven’t the strength to do it manually - I’m not even sure it can be opened manually.

I opened it when I got home last night - and a bolt dropped from above. I was unable to discern its origiin, so I shrugged, and hit the button - it closed. I guess the bolt wasn’t very important, thought I.
WRONG
It’s the one that holds the main arm of the machinery to the door itself. grrr. It won’t be fixed until Thursday, so I have go in and out via the front door and concrete steps on which I am not at all confident.

Fortunately for you, it wasn’t lightning. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bermuda.

Bermuda as in Flight 19, USS Cyclops,* that* Bermuda?

WTH does every email from the 'Dope tonight start with:

And WT…H “Mom” instead of “FairyChat” which sounds so much more cool?
And why “Flytrap” instead of " Dionaea muscipula " or “Utricularia gibba”?

Moses and Aaron on a stick!

Mrs. Plant v.3.0 was annoyed that we couldn’t get into Red Lobster or Outback, and grumpily insisted on Kroger. I bought minute steak (I feel so cheap, but she likes it) a large ribeye and shrimp for tempura. She elected for minute steak which she obviously likes very much. I dredged it in flour, then egg and bread crumbs, a Japanese thing, katsu or something. Means “stupid things Westerners eat, but we make it sometimes anyway”. Tempura zucchini and onion with a soy dipping sauce, rice, and I talked her into making gravy.

She liked her birthday present, thank you all SO MUCH for the WONDERFUL SUGGESTIONS.

She is off tomorrow, doesn’t have to go to work at 3:00 AM American, stayed up until 9:00. Now I have to get her off the couch and to bed.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

Flytrap, Mumper nicknames don’t follow rules, and sometimes don’t even resemble the user name.

Good Morning Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 70 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 and mostly cloudy with a chance of afternoon/evening thunderstorms. So, it’s cloudy. It might rain. Oh and it’s humid because it’s August. Quelle surprise!

Sorry about the garage door Rosie. Two years ago mine quit and instead of repairin’ it (it was a cheap one installed when da cave was built) I had what I’m told is a top of the line opener installed. I like it because it’s quiet and if need be I can open it via keypad. I did that once when my clicker (southern for garage door opener) quit workin’. That’s when I found out I could buy a clicker battery for like three bucks. Bet you didn’t think anybody else would have a garage story to tell.

Now I must find more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, 'tis an irk day so purtification must commence.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

¿Urticaria en la giba*? That Linneus sure had a gift for picking names.

  • hives on the hump

Because **Mooooooooom **sounds whiny and much more respectful. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good morning. Up and breakfasted. **FCD **has gone to work for mandatory training but he’ll be home for lunch, inlaws are up. I’ve got a little laundry to do, then packing. I’ve also got to spend an hour or so in my studio to finish a few things that’ll dry out while I’m gone. Plus I have to write out miscellaneous info and instructions for hour house-sitting daughter.

Mostly, it should be a chill day. Happy Wednesday!!

MOOOOOOM have you mentioned to your MIL that y’all will be travelin’ through the Bermuda Triangle? Tell her there’s virtually no worries of a hurricane because it’s more likely the ship will just disappear under mysterious circumstances. She’ll be relieved. Trust me.

I fixed the phone at irk. Line one was showin’ up on the display as “no line.” I unplugged the main base, waited a few seconds, plugged it back in and voila! it works! What? If it didn’t work and now it does that means I fixed it. Does too!

Yeah, I bet he was a riot at parties.

Terrestrial Utricularia have tiny, bladder like traps on their roots. The aquatics, like U. gibba and U. vulgaris have traps on their stems.
