Agreed.
What was the story Bran was telling? I caught the end and it seems some God dislikes killing those under your roof? I know it relates to Frey or was a warning about what happens to Frey but until I get the episode on DVR (forgot last night ) it is bugging me.
He basically said that the gods weren’t angry for killing or other such acts, but instead because you welcomed a guest to your hospitality, then killed them. Cut camera to Walder Frey - a subtle connection and bit of foreshadowing, that…
Nah… she had to do it.
Do you recall which Gods? Speaking of Gods, I have a feeling the red witch is tormenting Ser Davos by allowing him to live she basically showed him she is in charge based all on the look she gave at the end.
Bran just said “the gods.”
Yeah, when Jon Snow says “I don’t know a lot of things but i know you won’t shoot me” you pretty much have to.
I’m getting the feeling that next season Joffrey is going to kill off Tyrion in order to make a statement to Tywin. I just can’t imagine him allowing Tyrion to continually insult him - plus his denial of being tired and all that point that way.
I don’t want Tyrion to die, he’s one of my favorite characters, but I just have a bad feeling.
Well, it was Bran telling the story, so I assume it was the old gods that the northerners worship.
I dunno - Tyrion has threatened to kill Joffrey numerous times over the series, and with the emphasis this show has placed on him (Tyrion), I wouldn’t put it past him. Add in the developing relationship between him and Sansa, as well as the plot pointing towards him and Sansa needing to create an heir (otherwise, what’s the point of that entire storyline from Martin’s perspective?), I could see Tyrion offing Joffrey as a tribute of his dedication to Sansa.
It might happen that way. That guy could show up riding a flaming ostrich singing La Bamba in Yiddish and I wouldn’t be surprised.
I have decided that Ser Davos the Onion Knight is my spirit animal – seriously, I think he is just THE BEST and I love his interactions with Stannis’s daughter – and I really, really want something truly awful to happen to Melissandre. SOON. She is weird and creepy and power-hungry and basically everything that is wrong with organized religion.
It seems obvious to me that Joffrey is going to be killed at some point seeing that he seemed to pretty much piss everybody Tywin included. Even Cersei is realizing that.
And besides with the war now over with the North the Lannisters story becomes stale so something has to happen for it to evolve and Joffrey undoing woulds stir things up.
Danaerys is still far far away to get involved and she seems more interested in freeing slaves than to sail to Kings landing.
I was surprised that in this episode they didnt show that kings landing got the raven from the wall about the night watch army.
They showed Stannis and it was serious enough for him to shift focus to it.
Does this not affect kings landing? Are they so far south that winter doesnt get there?
After Joffrey said to Tywin about hiding under Casterly Rock, you could see on his face that he knew he had gone too far. Despite his constant protestations that he is the king, I think he realizes how precarious his position is.
I just don’t see Joffrey dieing, to be honest. I don’t think Tyrion would do that - has he actually killed anyone (directly or indirectly)? I don’t think so (but I can’t remember).
Also, Joffrey is getting more brazen and defiant, which is why I think he’s going to kill Tyrion.
Also, as a fan, I expect Sansa to warm up to Tyrion… and hence, Tyrion will not get a chance to act on that.
I don’t know about that. I think that Martin has set his character up as such that everyone wants him to die, but I don’t think we’ll get our wish.
True, it would stir things up, I’ll grant you that - but I think Danaerys is probably going to come into play to provide the stirring.
Not sure if the actual “winter” makes it that far south, but I’m guessing so. Tyrion (when he was Hand) was talking about all the stocking up for winter they were doing, and how feeding a hungry city during a long winter can make or break a king. There was some mention at some point of the lands south of King’s Landing (especially where the Tyrells are) rarely if ever experiencing a winter.
I meant about the nights watch army… is Kings landing too far for them to attack?
Why would the night’s watch army attack King’s Landing?
So Dany is basically a messiah figure now, huh?
Has Sam gotten around to telling anyone that dragon glass knives will kill a white walker? It’s a key plot point, and giving it to the biggest idiot in the storyline means that Sam will either not recognize the point or forget to tell anyone.
I bet he meant the night walker army. And so far as I know, we don’t know what their intentions are, much less their strategy.
